Q: Is the toddler size large enough for a 5yo boy? 45ish pounds? The manufacturer info says ages 4-12yo but that is not usually considered "toddler". TY!

No, it is pretty small. It just barely fit my 35 pound 3 year old. I would not recommend it for over age 3.

Q: my daughter is 18 months 22 pounds, does she need the toddler or infant version?

My son was about the same size when he wore for Halloween. I got the infant version. The only caveat is that it's REALLY hard to get on because it is sewn from the armpit to the knee and there is no give whatsoever because it's kind of a foamy material. I was worried the other would be way too big. I ripped the seam out of the sides and hemmed it down to make it easier to put on and allow some ease of movement. (A bit of velcro or a little snap would be great to hold together at the waist.)

Q: What size of an infant does this carrot costume fit?

My son is in the 18 month range, and this will fit him. The problem is that I'll have to slice up the sides or back to get it over his head. The fit will be good, but getting it on is pretty tough. There is NO stretch whatsoever, and the sides are sewn from the armpit to the knee.
