Ease of use over a clamshell heat press
A manual would have been helpful re items which can be pressed, thickness, etc…it can be a bit of trial and error. Once you’ve mastered the heat settings and timer it works very well with few hiccups, although on one occasion we couldn’t lift the plate (or rather it didn’t lift automatically). Certainly would buy this again and recommend it. We’re currently looking at the same make for a mug press to compliment our Cricut, which is very pricey!

Good Heat Press
I had been applying HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) using a domestic iron with very mixed results, a lot of lost items and wasted vinyl. I decided the way forward was a heat press, I hesitated over the HTVRONT as it was double the price I could get a heat press for. However, I did buy one and been very pleased, so far not a single wasted project.A few points, I used an Infrared Thermometer to establish the hotplate temperature which I found was running approx 30 degrees C hotter than shown, so simply reduced further temperatures and that has worked fine. I also read the reviews for this item and some of them are not entirely accurate. One review stated that there is no release button to lift the hotplate from the bed, true there is no button marked "release" but you simply press any button on the control panel and it will immediately release. Another states you are limited to the units pre-programmed temperatures, this not so. You have a set of programmes supplied, you can create an additional two custom settings or enter any temperature and time of your choice up to the maximum time and temperature allowed by the unit.Lastly, it looks smart and with a pull out bed doesn't take up a lot of room.

Won't allow pressing for more than 90 seconds
Love the machine but won't let you press for more than 90 seconds at a time.Once you get over the loud noises it makes when heating it's great !I wouldn't recommend this machine if you want to sublimate onto items as 90 seconds is not long enough to do this.Great press if you want to just use it for HTV workI bought this machine for doing HTV & Sublimation so I could have a nice machine sitting that would do everything I needed instead of my trusty old swing press taking up so much room!!For me it was not Value for money due to what I needed it for ! Apart from that it's all good !

*Edted review after help from seller
* EDITED*After leaving my initial review below; the seller immediately got in touch and said they would take the screen cover on board and immediately start adding them to future products to be shipped. Absolutely can’t fault them on this one.RE: the temperature the seller gave me additional info on how to change the screen so it consistently showed it in •C not •F. Basically the manual isn’t super intuitive but with the additional help from the seller this has been resolved. I’m very happy with the performance of the machine and happy to change my review to reflect this.Initial review:The press arrived and I unwrapped it and immediately noticed there was no protective cover on the little heating screen and it’s got a lot of scratches on it. For a £400 machine it should have had a protective cover. The rest of the machine was well packaged and protected.Upon using the machine the temp is in •F not •C (it switches at times by itself) which is confusing for the UK customers. It says press the temp button and then the up & down keys to change the temperature but mine doesn’t change and just keeps climbing to the preset temp? It could be that in so used to my Cricut easy press that this one seems so complicated but time will tell!

A-MAY-ZING!!!!!!!
The media could not be loaded. I run a busy printing business but with my last heat press my arm would lock and hurt afterc12 hours. This is a dream!!!!! Best thing I ever bought!!!!! I need another 5!

Not a great press I’m afraid
Unfortunately I ordered this as a 2nd press - unless you are just pressing tshirts (and even then it didn’t always work) not suitable in my opinion for HTV- probably suitable is just doing sublimation.Vinyl would not adhere even when pressed twice. Very disappointed

Perfect Machine... Almost
I absolutely love this heat press, it's done everything I have needed doing with ease. The pro's & cons are as follows:When heating up, it makes a really loud & quite scary clumping noise, when turning it on for the first time I used it, I honestly thought it would explode on me, but once heated, this stops & all is well.If pressing larger items, it was trial & error with getting them to fit, especially a large hoodie. To get around this I turned the hoodie sideways on the plate & folded the arms in, that worked perfectly.Getting the temperature & times adjusted are not as straight forward as I'd hoped, but, with perseverance & watching a youtube video, I've finally managed (ish) to get the hang of it. Things are still a tad confusing when attempting to pre set my temperatures though. The pressure of the press is not the best I have experienced. It is perfect for doing heavier garments, but when doing t shirts or anything else smaller, the pressure just isn't there, so to get over this I insert my Cricut press mat on top of the supplied heat press one, which solves that problem. When working at high temperatures on a regular basis, it's obviously, in time going to "Burn" or darken the mat, as happens with any material, to protect the mat & give it a longer & better looking cosmetic life when doing smaller items which leave the mat exposed to the high temps, I place butcher paper on top of the mat as well as on top of any items, just sandwiching said items between butcher paper. So far, this appears to have helped.Overall, I am extremely happy with my auto press, no accidental burns (a regular occurrence with my previous press). So easy to press things now with the auto function of this machine.Would I recommend? Absolutely! A gamechanger if you regularly use a press.I have knocked off 1 star from the overall rating due to the clunking noise when heating up..
