Perfect for professional and civilian use
Easy to install, fitting in engine compartment, grille, or bull bar comfortably. Wiring process is simple, and included directions are clear. I've used this product mounted on a push bar in the grille area - loud and clear at 1/2mi with moderate traffic. Operates on 12v and has been proven in all weather conditions. A very versatile product! One thing to avoid is placement of the sound module (not the speaker) in the engine compartment. The heat has an impact. Mount the speaker anywhere, but keep the sound module in the cabin.

LOUD
SASP01 Good instructions, well packaged, easy to install, LOUDER than expected..in a GOOD way! Instructions say it works with 9 volt to 30 volt power supply. Mine is hooked to a 24volt military truck system. This may be why its as loud as it is. Will work great for off road to advise people on corners, hills, ect, or the person sitting at the green light on their phone. Hopefully I dont have any failure issues as I have seen some posted about.

Exactly what I wanted
It's hard to find a standalone digital air horn, but this is perfect! It's loud and easy to activate from a single momentary button or a controller box.

UPDATE--Please Read Before Purchasing
After testing 6 of these units, I have changed my rating on the product to one star. These units are marketed and sold here on Amazon as 100W units. After working with sirens and horns for decades, I knew that the decibel testing on these just wasn't loud enough. Several people here on Amazon said it was the speakers that come with these units, so we changed to high end, commercial siren speakers. Unfortunately, according to the manufacturer these units are only made to work with 8 Ohm speakers like you would have on your stereo. The industry standard for horns and commercial sirens is 11 ohms. Therefore, when using these systems with good speakers, they only produce 33 watts of power instead of the published 100 watts.Overall, the sound output on these just isn't anywhere near what we get on true police horns. We were sadly disappointed as we had high hopes for them.

Attention for sure.
The amp is very compact and only 4 wires and so simple, 2 wires to horn, + and - to an existing horn pigtail, there is a slight delay when pressing horn button however it works and works well!! I can not give you a true assessment on durability because I just installed it, but performance is spot on. To give you a comparison, I am an auto tech and or county sheriff's dept uses us for auto repairs, the air horn feature on the patrol vehicles amazed me, I wanted that same horn, we put a police interceptor with a code 3 system, side by side with this lamphus unit and it seems almost just as loud. It says the amp is waterproof however mine appeared to be unsealed, I could see circuit board through were the wires come out, So I suggest sealing it or mounting the amp inside the vehicle. The problem is there is no polarity on the speaker wires, they are both white, I added another lamphush amp and speaker and both speaker wires are green input, from amp both are white so are they in phase or not? I was going for loud and I guess i will have to buy a decibel meter to see, suggest speaker and amp outputs be coinciding colors so they are phased right. otherwise they will cancel each other and kill the output.

Do you want to scare people or get their attention? This will do it
My old horn sounded like a small dog barking trying to scare a intruder...not very effective...now this I'm pretty sure I gave an old lady a heart attack in a walmart parking lot (she was cutting through all the parking spots and didn't see the BRIGHT silver car) this stopped her dead in her tracks. On the road, highway included...people look. I drive a Subaru, you don't expect that loud of a sound first off from my car, let alone what EMS/Police normally only have. My neighbor (who is a police officer) gets a kick out of it, this (100w) is actually very close to his loudness wise and sound dead on. It's legal in my state (Ohio) so just pay attention. I could see CA or NY saying no.

Worth the price
I purchased one of these in spite of other people's feedback about low sound levels, so I tested this unit as soon as it came in. Mine is plenty loud; certainly louder than the stock horn on my F150. It isn't quite as loud as the "professional" LE siren/horn that you might find on a police cruiser or fire truck, but then those units cost several times what this one does, and may also be 200W models instead of 100W. In any case, this one was loud enough to cause the neighborhood kids to come snooping around to find out where the loud noise was coming from, and my daughter said that it was loud enough in our basement family room (I was testing the horn in our detached garage that's about 50ft away from the house, and the family room is in the basement on the far side of the house) to freak out her pet cats. A normal car horn just wouldn't do that. I also suspect that the sound can be made louder by using a full sized horn speaker instead of the compact one that this unit comes with.I don't think this unit is intended to replace those pricey pro units, so it's unrealistic to expect that it will perform to that level. If you want to sound like a real fire truck, spend the extra money to buy the expensive "pro" fire truck equipment. In my opinion this unit performs great for the money.

It’s great when it worked
Installed with a relay and sounded great. Winter came and as soon as it dropped below 40 it would work sometimes. Well after it got down to 20 and below it was completely dead. The indicator led on the amp lights up and nothing happens.
