Rather than use this scupper on a water pump outlet, I needed a flat, 10” extension to a drainage spout on our lake dock. My concern about this design was that the weir (see the diagram in my photo or product description) would cause a backup, allowing water to pool and sit for a long time until the next rain. That promotes mosquito growth and algae. I was prepared to drill a small hole in the bottom of the weir to ensure it never accumulated water. Fortunately, the weir has a side slit that allows water to seep out, draining the accumulation over time. I like how it is made from high quality stainless steel and internally welded.

The finish flaked off within the first year of normal use and weather exposure.

This scupper is honestly beautiful and simple. It really elevated our water feature. It's well made and installation seemed straight forward. I actually did not install it myself, but it seemed like a super fast process and nothing went wrong.

I was, and am, a bit surprised at the priciness of this spout. It is made of thick metal, and seems to have a good design. However, the brown coating on it had a few bare spots. I was expecting a flawless finish at this price point. The outside of the box which this spout came in had piping directions. However, we are using this spout in our own fountain design so it won't be living up to its full potential. The plastic piece which screws on from the other side of where the spout is mounted and the plumbers tape which are included are quite helpful for the installation process. Overall, it is a fine looking and flowing spout.
