Magic: The Gathering The Brothers’ War Retro-Frame Commander Deck - Urza's Iron Alliance (White-Blue-Black) + Collector Booster Sample Pack

I'll start off this review by noting that I am a fan of retro-framed cards and wish to see more precon decks like this down the road that offer a unique flavor that we as fans rarely get to see these days.On the note of deck value, the brother's war precon decks on release day are not insanely reprint valued especially following up decks like the ones we just saw in dominaria united. Although this is true the deck value I would argue is worth it for people who are looking for an entry into the artifact / sacrifice utility artifact decks such as myself. Whether or not this pertains to you that is for you to decide.I've played a few games against my girlfriend with this deck and can confirm that the pacing and speed of the deck is slightly higher than other precons we see due to the extra mana rocks and utility artifacts that help with ramping. With respect to win conditions I would say it doesn't have many cards that offer an instant win but there are many combo-pieces and high value cards that allow a fair bit of control. Whether it be through giving all artifacts hexproof / selective destruction of permanents on ETB / locking down your opponents with just-in-time answers. Playing against elf tribal only I can say the lack of quick wins will result in out of box losses often however with minor upgrades this deck would definitely be a force to be reckoned with for not a lot of money on top.In conclusion I would say this is a fairly priced out of box precon for those who are looking to try artifact / strategy heavy decks and love the retro frame cards.I'll also be reviewing the Urza's Iron Alliance precon and playing these against one another when it arrives.

This looks to be a pretty good deck even though I haven't played it yet. Perfectly viable out of the box. I plan on swapping some cards from the Mishra Deck to fine tune this and still keep the retro look.

Cards arrived quickly, everything accounted for and still sealed up. The box was banged up though, and wasn't in any extra packaging. The cards were fine.

Just learning the game but seems cool I only play with my kids that are also learning and we have fun

Lots of fun for more-advanced players! You can build a nice engine off all of the various artifacts in play! Remember, non-creature artifacts don't have summoning sickness and can be tapped immediately after entering the battlefield 😉
