Infant Probiotics for Mom & Baby :: 5 Critical Strains

One of my twin baby boys was prescribed/given antibiotics while their other wasn’t and surprise, surprise, the one who got the antibiotics developed serious reflux. Spit up almost every feeding and we had to change him several times a day. He was a happy spitter so people said this was mostly a laundry issue and reflux generally goes away after 6 months. We suspected dairy allergy so we eliminated dairy from moms diet and switched formula, and got some improvement. But 6 months came and went and he’s sitting up, eating solids, but the reflux never got much better. It was clearly a gut bacteria issue (antibiotics, reflux, rash) so we tried these drops. After about 2-3 weeks of use, we saw some serious improvement in the reflux. After one bottle of the probiotics, now he rarely spits up and we don’t see any other reason why he got better.The reflux was more than a laundry issue- he used to weigh more than his brother, but after months of reflux and losing food, and less tummy time, he grew more slowly than his brother and was weeks behind on all developments. He seems better now and we’re getting a second bottle to try to eliminate the reflux and correct the gut bacteria.

I don’t write reviews often but I think it’s necessary to let you all know how impressed I am with this product. I researched it all after giving birth. Probiotics are super expensive, you will not find any product below $20 in the brick & mortar stores. Not only does this product cost around $18, it has multiple strains which is great to give your little one as their gut doesn’t develop its own flora for some time. My kid is now almost 16 months and I notice a huge difference in her gut behavior when she doesn’t take the probiotic. Will buy again for a very long time.I also received a hand written card in the mail from the owner of the business, thanking me for my patronage. I think that is such a considerate thing to do, I don’t see that much anymore. It was the tipping point in making this review actually.

Seemed to work, but only first half of bottle was useful. Bottle needs to be rolled back and forth for a good few minuets to get the probiotic beads to mix with the oil. You them have to hurry to suck up the heads so they don't settle back down. Other downfall seemed to be the amount. My baby fought me when administering these. Had it been just one drop, like vitamin D drops are, it wouldn't be an issue. However, I tried to put these in a syringe and even in her bottle nipple, but the heads clog everything up. Between the difficult dosing and the fact that the beads dry and cling to the sides of the bottle, only about half of the bottle was able to be used. I would recommend a powdered probiotic that can be mixed with milk.

Easy to mix for infants in their formula or milk and also contains important strains including L Returi that’s found in good probiotic formulas like gerber gentle ease that claims to easy colic in infants. Never had problems in mixing this in my 4mo food and also never had issues with her developing any reaction.

This product is the best probiotic on the market for babies. It has all the best strains of probiotic bacteria. I have done extensive reading on probiotics for my own purposes, and sought out probiotics for my newborn with the strains I know work well for me, soon after she was born.For the first week or two as a newborn, she was very challenging. Lots of crying for long stretches, with digestive challenges. After starting these drops, it felt like the worst was behind us. She was still a newborn, but the “colic” crying seemed to subside. And now, after giving her these drops for 6 months, and she is generally a very calm, happy baby.Yes, the consistency of the liquid is a little weird. We store it in the fridge, so have to take it out and let it warm to room temp, then shake it a bit to even out the liquid and more solid parts. It’s pretty simple to do this, so I don’t have any problem with that.Overall, I think this has played a significant role in our baby being able to be 100% on formula, healthy and happy.

They now use vegetable oil as their carrier (which is an inflammatory oil) so my review has changed. IMO, baby’s should only be getting the highest quality ingredients and I hate when companies start cutting corners for profit.Old review below no longer valid.We’re on our second bottle of these and they’ve been working so well for my son. He’s 3 months now, they’re helped relieve some painful gas he was getting And they keep him regular. The sediment they can occur at the bottom is natural and normal. We’re really happy with the ingredients in these too.The only con might be the taste. He doesn’t love them, you can tell by his face. But he gets over it quickly.

I picked this one as it has several strains that I read in studies are particularly good for preventing or helping address allergies and gut issues. It seems to work well, and our baby doesn't mind them too much. Hard to know how healthy or unhealthy she would be without them, as we have been giving these to her daily since birth. But she's in great health as far as we can tell. She just got her first cold at 2.5 months. Her father got it really bad but its been pretty mild for her, at least so far.

I have ordered this product a few times now. It seems to really help my toddler with his reflux and other issues. It comes on time and the packaging has been great. But this last purchase I made, the box was an odd yellow color and felt HOT to the touch. When I looked inside I realized that the bottle had leaked and permeated the box. the bottle and box were so hot I doubt the probiotic was still effective. However, because the prior purchases have been great and the company has been very responsive to the issue and offered a replacement right away, I am still giving this product 5 stars. Purchase without reservation. Great product and great company. The bottle I received as a replacement has an expiration date of 2019 so I am confident the product is fresh. Thanks
