Easy to access container
I have been using spirulina for a long time now and find that it gives me an energy boost that lasts a long consistent time. This is the first capsule form I have found and have no issues with it. I was surprised to find that there is a little box inside the container which must be used to keep the inside dry but this does raise concerns about contamination if the little box breaks. I have not seen this in a tablet container before.

Old box
The product seemed intact, however, the box was old and dusty. I think it's important to ensure your items are delivered in good condition since it leads one to believe that the item may be off or not from a good place.

A staple supplement!
Spirulina is a microscopic, filamentous cyanobacterium that grows in alkaline water bodies. It is extensively utilized as a nutraceutical food supplement worldwide due to its high levels of functional compounds, such as phycocyanins, phenols and polysaccharides, with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulating properties in vivo and in vitro. Several scientific publications have suggested its positive effects in various pathologies such as cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, hyperglycemia, obesity, hypertension, tumours and inflammatory diseases. Lately, different studies have demonstrated the neuroprotective role of Spirulina on the development of the neural system, senility and several pathological conditions, including neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. This review focuses on the role of Spirulina in the brain, highlighting how it exerts its beneficial anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, acting on glial cell activation, and in the prevention and/or progression of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis; due to these properties, Spirulina could be considered a potential natural drug (Trotta, Porro, Cianciulli, & Panaro, 2022).In recent decades, researchers have focused on developing new drugs, particularly natural bioactive products, which can counteract redox imbalance and consequent cell damage without causing neuronal toxicity to treat neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Spirulina microalgae represent a rich source of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substances that can support the development of the nervous system and physiologic brain functions, compensate for nutritional deficiencies, and promote a beneficial immune response, reducing the harmful consequences of an overactive immune system.I started taking Spirulina in 2019 and never stopped. It has helped me immensely and supported my well-being through some terrible times, both physical and mental health. I have much respect for it and will continue taking it. When I first started taking it, I was recommended to take one capsule 30 minutes before a meal. To this day, that is how I supplement with it. Even the Ambrosial Spirulina, I take one capsule half an hour before I eat.I have purchased several products from Ambrosial since last summer, and I only have favourable opinions about their approach to health and supplements. I hope the little research I shared helps you!

Spirulina is a super food
I have had this in powder form in green smoothies and it definitely helps your health. When I took it before, I felt really good but it was in combination with other super foods. This should benefit you without the need to make a smoothie. In a tablet format so easy to take. I would take 1 tablet for a few days and if no adverse reaction you could go for 2 a day. You always get better benefits if you generally eat healthy.

Price of around £12 is reasonable for 60 vegan friendly capsules
Price of around £12 is reasonable for 60 vegan friendly capsules. I didn't notice any after taste or smell when opening so very easy to swallow.Only reason for 3 Stars is because its to early to realise any benefits. But Spirulina is so good for you (supposedly) that I might consider ordering again when this one runs out. Especially as its on a subscribe and save.I hope you found this helpful. Please let me know if you did. 😊

A supplement I take periodically as a natural source of many minerals and vitamins - though not B12!
I used to take spirulina as a source of B12, as a vegetarian of over 40 years, as it was always said to be a good source of this trace vitamin, which can be difficult to get from the diet for vegetarians and vegans. However, recent studies have uncovered this as a myth, as the FORM of B12 in spirulina is pseudovitamin B12 Coα-[α-(7-adenyl)]-Coβ-cyanocobamide which is biologically inactive in humans. It does contain several other vitamins of the B complex, and several minerals alsoI take this periodically as general support to the immune system and for its antiinflammatory action (mildly asthmatic, well controlled)I wouldn't take powders as I prefer to eat a lot of whole fruit, rather than the too easily accessible smoothie which tends, however fresh, to deliver too much fruit sugar instantly, in a way that having to chew through the same quantity of fruit, with all the fibre doesn'tSo, this as vege capsule, suits me fine. As for B12, for the vegans, many cereals are fortified with this. And, reputedly quite a lot of fruit and vegetables contain smaller quantities (though I haven't researched whether this too is pseudo B12 - apples, bananas, mangos, blueberries oranges. As for vegetables, Alfalfa, beetroot, chestnut and shiitake mushrooms, butternut squash, potato, also soyamilk and fermented soya. Vegetarians are better served here as dairy milk, yoghurt and eggs also deliver.Flesh eaters will be getting this that way
