Looks like it was dropped and was delivered sitting with the ...
I received the first one, broken. No fault of Amazon, clearly mishandled by UPS. Looks like it was dropped and was delivered sitting with the this side up facing down. All the packaging was shattered inside. Contacted Amazon that night. They setup a pickup for the next day. UPS came and took that one away and I was credited back my full purchase price when I called. I ordered a second and it arrived in good condition.Assembly was easy and quick. Seems well made and works very well. I had the Gamma Progression 200 and that one worked well. But stringing using the drop weight takes longer and I wanted the a six point mounting system instead of the two point mounting system. I would say that after stringing only two rackets with the X-ST, my time has been cut in half and the result is more consistent. One tip, crank slowly, not too fast. Two-three seconds before locking out. No damage done going faster, but you need to give the string time stretch to get consistent tensions (that's true of any crank stringer). You can Google constant pull versus lockout and you will find several videos that talk about it.The fixed clamps work very well and are a lot easier and quicker than the floating clamps. I would agree you need to buy a tension calibrator. Mine was off by about 3lbs. Not sure about the comment about 24lbs, seems like a lot.All in all this seems to be a quality piece of equipment that should do the job for years. If you are looking for a step up from the entry stringer (drop weight), its hard to go wrong with this one. It is rock solid and works well. Even if you one day would like to have an electronic constant pull model, you don't need to toss this one.The Wise 2086 electronic tension head can be swapped out for the existing crank tension head and mounted on the stringer for less than buying one of the more expensive electronic models. One final note. The stringer is not light. It is aluminum and steel and a bit hefty. While it is technically portable, it is not really something you want to be moving all the time. You are better off either finding a spot to keep it or getting the matching stand for it.Hope this helps.

Easy to operate!!
When unboxing the machine it came with out a scratch! The machine also came with all the tools you need ( awl, clippers, strait pliers, bent nose pliers, etc.) the only tool that did not come with it is a starting clamp. But you do not need a starting clamp at all to string a racket. The machine itself did not need any assembly except removing 1 screw. If you do order a stand for the machine it will be very hard to attach the machine. That would be the stands fault not the machine. This is my first stringing machine and it was very easy to string my first racket. All the mechanics run smoothly and the touch screen is easy to use! The machine even came with three sets of gamma string which I would not recommend using to play if you play a lot but are great for practicing and for new players to the game!

One of the best
I’ve been stringing on and off for over 25 years. I’ve gone through multiple machines and always regret selling them. Hopefully, this will be my last. Its really tough to beat a Gamma lock out machine. Craftsmanship is second to none. No cheap parts here. From the clamps to the hardware, this is a solid machine that should last a lifetime or longer. It ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for. Came with all of the tools needed to string. Drawers are a nice touch. No instructions but this can be found on their website.

Doesn't work and Wrong Photo
The picture shown may or may not be what you get. I ordered for my tennis company and we received a new touch pad model? After our very FIRST string pull the stringer stopped working. We were no longer able to pull anything. Confused we looked at the manual, but the manual wasn't for the new model so we had to search youtube videos etc for a factory research setting (which also didn't work)So it was a dud, which I found out 2 days later when I called Gamma and talked to their technician, unfortunately testing the sensors must not be something Gamma does, so beware! We have reached out to gamma and amazon and we get a 100% refund after the receive their broken machine back. Of course I now have to lug a 58 lb machine to UPS and pay for a new box and shipping material so have effectively paid to ship trash.I will be buying a different brand and staying away from Gamma products in the future, horrible experience.

Great stringer for a great value
I'm a highly rated player and teaching pro who's been stringing rackets for 40 years now. I've strung on everything from the $3K+ stringers to the little drop-weight tabletop my uncle started me with when I was 12 (everyone should try stringing on one of those!). I've even strung for some tour players using the most advanced machines on the market, and I can say with the voice of experience that this little Gamma is well worth the investment. It's accurate, easy to use, and well thought out in every detail. It doesn't use the electronic tensioners of the more expensive machines but I guarantee you won't be able to tell the difference, and it's oh so handy to just stash in the closet -- I have it on a rolling cart -- and it comes with everything you need, although I'd recommend getting a starter hand clamp with it. Overall, I'm very, very pleased with this and glad I didn't spend the extra thousands for the electronic standups. Kudos to Gamma for continuing to impress with affordable, equipment that gets the job done.
