Tons of functionality squeezed into a beautiful retro package
I’ve always liked the styling of the Revival range and the iStream3L offers the most functionality, benefitting from WiFi connectivity opening up your options of stations from all around the world in good clarity. DAB reception is patchy where I live so I tend to use the internet mode for all of my listening.Upon opening the box you get the impression of excellent build quality, the casing is reassuringly heavy, the gold accents in the grille and Roberts logo are beautiful and the stitching is pristine.Setup was very simple - the setup guide takes you through each step and the screen is easy to read and navigate. The easiest way to join your WiFi network is by using WPS, a simple one button press on my router got me hooked up - handy as the passcode contains lots of different characters in upper and lower case.I would recommend installing either the UNDOK or Oktiv apps to better control the radio, from here you can toggle the power, change volume and listening modes and even browse and search for stations as well as storing presets. If using Spotify, the radio is Connect compliant meaning it can be activated within the Spotify app and will begin streaming immediately.Sound quality is very good, it is not a Hi-Fi and uses a mono speaker set, but unless you’re having a house party it is adequate in terms of volume and richness. There is an equaliser that has preset modes or you can set your own, but I have not felt the need to tinker. I mainly listen to pop/rock and find it a pleasing listen for hours on end. There is a 3.5mm line out socket which you might found useful to hook up to your hi-fi or surround system. There is also a headphone socket and aux in socket on the top left of the control panel, it’s a shame that despite having Bluetooth on board, this is only an input and the iStream3L cannot be used with wireless headphones.I have installed 6xAA batteries in the bottom, when plugged in I keep the Roberts on my bedside table but I like the flexibility to take into the kitchen or living room without having to worry about an outlet. I have found battery life to be good around 10 hours, note the radio only charges when switched off though. There are 40 presets available in each mode and these are best stored and navigating using the app although it is possible using the unit itself.I chose charcoal grey for mine but to be honest all the colours look fantastic and the iStream3L is bound to look stylish wherever you place it. As well as being a nice sounding versatile unit it manages to be a piece of discrete decor too and I don’t think any other brand manages to blend this cocktail of functionality and style as well as Roberts do.All in all, a fantastic unit that has brought many hours of reliable, enjoyable listening without buffering or drop outs. Most sources are covered - DAB+, internet radio, Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Aux In and even good old FM.

Wonderful quality and sound
I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband, he loved it! The radio looks so classy and smart and is so easy to operate and connect to my phone. The sound quality is excellent and it picks up a vast amount of stations. We would rather listen to the radio now than put the TV on and it is so convenient to be able to carry it wherever we want to listen to it, we actually took it on holiday with is. I love the colour so much I have remodeled my living room to match! 😂

Great, rich sound from a beautiful-looking radio
Easy to set up especially with the Undok app. A few minutes of familiarisation and setting up presets and away it went. Fantastic sound quality, great build quality - thoroughly recommended.

Great Radio When We Fathomed The Settings.
It looks fabulous in our room, lovely red colour and certainly not in your face. The setting up can be quite challenging as we found, but we succeeded in the end. The radio was shutting down exactly after 8 hours and didn’t know why. I contacted Roberts via email who weren’t much help at all. I did a factory reset which I thought helped but later found it didn’t, so I returned it to Amazon. The second one arrived and did exactly the same, I was confused as to what was happening. No help at all from anyone anywhere so I looked further into the settings, lo and behold, a default setting which is factory set shuts the radio down after 8 hours if the radio isn’t touched. I changed it to off, and bingo, it’s working perfectly. Why oh why didn’t the manufacturer pick up on this. These days you are expected to know everything, but when you are in your 70s it’s difficult.Roberts customer service was poor to say the least, the instructions are poor also, not consumer literate and basically useless.Saving a station is a mean feat on its own, but it’s done now. The default sound setting needs changing, I set the custom EQ to plus 4 treble and minus 2 on bass, but it’s personal preference. It sounds really nice, don’t expect hifi quality, it’s meant to sound like a retro radio, very rich and mellow. The internet setup is daunting but once done that’s it.I recommend this radio despite all the glitches, a lot of money I agree, but it’s worth it, especially when you can get thousands of channels via the internet and not troubled with reception like we are up north.

Amazing little radio with big speaker sound, user experience could be improved.
I would have given this radio a 4.5 out of 5 if that were possible. The radio is beautifully finished and the sound quality is fantastic. There is an amazing full and warm sound. The only thing that lets this unit down is the user experience, it's just odd and not intuitive. For example, if you want to change station from the list of presets, the knob for this is on the right hand side. You have to turn the knob clockwise (up), to scroll down the list, and anti clockwise (down), to scroll up the list. This might not sound like a big deal, but if as I did you bought this for someone of an older generation this and other aspects of the user interface can be very confusing.

Quality sophisticated Retro internet radio
My blue radio was delivered today, packaged well and arrived ahead of time. Its a chunky little radio which feels like quality and just the right size for me which fits nicely on my dresser in the kitchen. I found an excellent youtube video done by Roberts on setup and walkthrough, which saved a bit of head scratching. I ordered rechargeable batteries and decided to go for Eneloop as recommended by another reviewer. The sound quality is rich, mellow and clear and the volume can be taken up pretty high but havent tried that yet. I've got the hang of presetting some stations and look forward to looking at all the other options on this fabulous radio. I listen to a lot more radio now that I am retired including bedtime to help me fall asleep. So far so good and extremely pleased that I have got what I paid for.
