Good, but not great
I’ve had Bissell Crosswave Max for a little over a week and overall it’s a good floor cleaner but comes with its shortcomings.Packaging. The unit came in neatly packaged with appropriate styrofoam protection. It comes with only one brushroll and one filter (Tineco S3 comes with two of each) but comes with 1 litre of the detergent, which is of really good quality.Functionality. Crosswave Max is currently the only floor cleaner that is capable of both hard floors and area rugs. In my experience it didn’t lift away hard stains but it seemed to have refreshed the rug I tested it on. It has a really big size clean water container but it’s shortcoming is the dirty water container is not as large, meaning you have to dump the dirty water more often. You have to keep pressing the button on the handle to release the water.Performance. This is where I have mixed feelings. It does a fantastic job on laminate flooring, leaving them streak free and relatively dry. It does really well in edge cleaning, a lot better than Tineco One S3 that I had before. This is part of the redesign that Crosswave Max had. Problems start when you start mopping the patterned tiles. It starts to leave a lot of water behind making the drying process a lot longer. Grouting looks way too wet after a few passes and going over the same area without releasing the water doesn’t help much with drying. Less patterned tiles seemed to be a bit better so not sure if poor suction is a result of the rubber seal or suction power. Speaking of going from a surface to a surface, I have different doorsteps and the machine always leaves a lot of water when tackling them. Tried lifting it up but it always leaves a small puddle that you have to wipe with kitchen towel or a cloth. And that’s my biggest problem with it, it’ll leave the laminate floors with almost dry finish whilst kitchen tiles will be way too wet. Tried using water trigger less often but it leaves the flooring uneven wet. Tineco S3 had an auto button that worked really well on all surfaces.Manoeuvrability, usage feedback and battery. After owning Tineco One S3 my partner says Max feels a lot heavier, more like an old fashioned upright vacuum cleaner than a brand new technology. I suppose it’s the extra weight and the fact the machine is not being pushed forward on its own (both Tineco and Hizero seem to be going forward on its own). The handle is also not very comfortable when used for long periods of time. Battery is average but you can do 100 sq m on one charge. It’s rivals such as Tineco offer 5 minutes longer battery, whilst Hizero does a 30 min longer runtime. It’s actually really loud, quite a bit louder than Tineco S3.Cleanup. That’s another great thing about the Max. Cleanup is way easier than Tineco. The pet hair strainer really works especially if the dirty water container is full of water. You still have to remove a lot of parts and leave for drying making the unit not really always on standby, especially with one brushroll and filter. The auto clean function is fantastic and really helps, much better than Tineco. Despite the self clean you still have to disassemble 5 parts, clean them daily and leave to dry 24hCrosswave Max vs Tineco One S3. Crosswave does all hard floors and rugs and has a really good cleaning results almost to the baseboards. It’s self cleaning function is by far the best I’ve seen and the dirty water tank has a clever strainer. It feels heavier than Tineco One S3 and I preferred Tineco auto mode as it always left all floors almost dry. Tineco was also a lot quieter and felt easier to push forward and less taxing on your wrists. It also costs £60 less than Crosswave Max if you manage to find the Prime Voucher for it. Crosswave only came with one brushroll and filter so not sure if other parts would do a better job at leaving floors dry.Final thoughts. Both Max and Tineco are great machines but I think I’ll wait for Hizero as it seems to be what I’m looking for - hustle free always ready floor cleaner with real dirt separation for dry and liquid mess and having an over an hour battery life.

Wow!
I have had the original corded crosswave for a number of years and have bought many replacement filters and brushes but I am aware of it’s faults so after been given Amazon vouchers for Xmas I did my research and decided on the cordless crosswave max as after reading the comments seemed to address my issues with the original crosswave.1. The integral hair debris catcher is definitely a winner, with 3 dogs shedding hair liberally I usually let the roomba do the hard work and then move onto the crosswave however when the roomba ran out of juice before finishing the kitchen I just went for it dog hairs and all and it did a fantastic job.2. weight, whilst this is a lot heavier it works to its advantage, we have a slightly uneven wooden floor which the original struggles with but the cordless crosswave max is not daunted and cleans as well in the uneven area as the flat floor3. The self cleaning brush when placed back on the charger was a revelation normally I would have to take the brush roll assembly to pieces and remove all the dog hair, whilst the cordless max had dog hair on the brush when placed in self cleaning mode it got sucked dramatically up the machine and into the waste water bucket and gathering on the new hair trap, amazing!4. Just the fact it’s cordless is in itself a massive bonus5. The edge cleaning, this is much much better than the original6. I admit I am anal about floor cleaners of any type but with 3 dogs it’s an everyday necessity so to sum it up I love it!!7. No reason to put off cleaning the floor now, being cordless makes cleaning a doddle, as I have a bad back fighting with the corded version just made me put off cleaning the floor.

Big hype - not actually that great
After reading lots of reviews and doing a lot of research on which crosswave would be best I went for the crosswave Max as it seemed to address a lot of issues with previous versions. And I liked the idea of not having to hoover then mop as I have to clean the floor almost daily due to kids & a dog. However after owning it for just over a month I am really disappointed and find it hasn’t lived up to the hype.My main issues:Streaks - it doesn’t matter how much or little water I use or how I use it, I end up with streaks all over my laminate (the main floor downstairs) as in the pictures. These are the wheel tracks.Change in floor levels - if I go from the laminate to our rug it smears dirt all over the edge of the rug/carpet. Or the tiles to the laminate it creates a muddy puddle on the tiles.Edges - I believe this model is vastly improved from previous models but I still don’t think it’s great. It’s upright style makes it difficult to get into small spaces/corners. When it goes forward and hits an edge it dumps a pile of dirt on the floor.I really don’t think it’s worth the £400+ I’ve spent on it. And if I could I would return it as I don’t think it’s fit for purpose. I always feel the floor needs an extra mop after I’ve used it and I have to go round the edges and clean them properly.I’ve just used it for a full 30 minutes and gone through at least half a tank of water but for some reason the dirty tank is empty!Be careful of the rivet on the removable brush head, I’ve burnt myself a couple of times as it gets very hot if the hoovers used for the full 30 mins!Very disappointing. Wish I’d stuck to my robot hoovers!

Not good enough for the money
after extensive research this seemed like the best fit for our tile/wooden floor home and we bought the Max version for best performance. However when we received it the issues are: quality is low compared for price point (flimsy plastic, sharp edges), fiddly to use water tank, which leaks if not fitted just right. To get good cleaning performance is tricky; needs to be used slowly often running multiple times over the same spot, it skids on wet tile floors, need to tread carefully not to get foot marks/wet foot. All in all if this was a £100 item it would be worth it at £400 the price/ performance is inadequate. If this is the best of the type on the market, as the reviews suggest, the market needs to do better. We returned it.

SO DISAPPOINTING
I PURCHASED THIS BEX BISSELL CROSSWAVE AFTER READING MANY FAVOURABLE REPORTS AND WHEN I USED THE MACHINE FIRST OF ALL IT WAS REALLY GOOD. HOWEVER, HAVING A VAST AREA OF VINYL TO CLEAN, AND A MUCKY DOG, IT QUICKLY REALISED THAT TRYING JUST TO RINSE OUT THE BRUSH AND WAIT FOR IT TO DRY WAS NOT GOING TO BE SUITABLE SO I ORDERED 2 REPLACEMENT ROLLERS THINKING THAT I COULD USE TWO AND KEEP ONE DRYING. THE ROLLERS SENT IN JUNE (I PURCHASED THE MACHINE IN JUNE) WERE INCORRECT SO AFTER I NOTIFIED BISSELL THE COLLECTED THE INCORRECT ROLLERS - SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE WRITTEN, PHONED (WHEN YOU CAN GET AN ANSWER) HAD PLENTY OF APOLOGIES BUT NO ROLLERS. I THEREFORE THOUGHT THAT AS IT WAS NOW 4 MONTHS LATER THEY MUST HAVE HAD NEW STOCKS!! LO AND BEHOLD THE INCORRECT ROLLERS WERE SENT AGAIN. I NOW CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE FOR ANYONE LIKE ME WHO HAS A LARGE AREA TO CLEAN AND A MUDDY DOG - I AM RETURNING THE MACHINE AS IT IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
