Most stock RV battery isolator solenoids are rated at 250 amps. They often go bad. This 500 amp solenoid is a good upgrade that should last longer. The mounting bracket on this 500 amp unit is larger than a stock 250A unit, simply because the switch is physically larger. You might need to drill another mounting hole to provide mounting holes about 1/2" wider to accommodate the larger mounting bracket. Surprisingly, my Winnebago was already predrilled with a 3rd mounting hole to accept this upgrade as an option.

Initial one didn't work. Company sent replacement and it is working well. Great value, many 12v battery isolators of this Amperage are twice the price. At maximum load my winch draws 504 Amps, isolator is rated for 500 Amps, but capable of handling a surge to 700 Amps. It will be very rare to run at full load for long and this will protect my winch from vandals by having an on and off switch in the cab of my truck. Mounted on an unused bracket under hood with an adapter plate I made.
