These are true to size, but you need to measure your dogs neck, chest/girth, and length for closest sizing as shown on the size chart. With a clothes measuring tape, Measure around neck were the collar would sit, chest at the widest part, and length from base of neck to base of tail. Length determines how long the shirt should be. You will want to make sure the shirt is 1 or 2 inches shorter than the length of your dog, so they won't potty on their shirt. Hope this helps.

Q: Can these be embroidered or iron on words?

(my sister does a lot of machine embroidery with her 10-needle Brother machine, I dabble) These shirts appear to be made from the same material as a running/exercise tee so don't think I'd recommend ironing. With the appropriate stabilizer I think a smallish embroidery would work well; because of the stretch, I wouldn't try a large design or one placed in an area subject to tension/pull - the area by the sides of the reflective bone would probably work best....let us know!

I don’t think I understand your question. Is the shirt neck too big, or is your dogs neck too big? All I can say is that I have a Bernese Mountain dog who had surgery. Even with all the hair he has as a ruff around his neck, the shirt fit him fine.
