I wanted to wait a while before I wrote a review on these little guys since after all they are plants ordered online. When they first arrived they were packaged well and I could tell care was taken to make sure they arrived safely. Although when I got the plant unwrapped It looked a little small and squished. When I went to plant them in my terrarium I was honestly afraid they wouldn't make it since the were almost flat and had very few roots. 3 weeks later under a small plant light with regular misting if DISTILLED water and they're actually doing amazing. They've developed color and have fluffed out and there is lots of new growth. Also I'd like to add that i didnt just recieve on plant, but four of them! All four are healthy and alive also. So if you order one and it looks flat, don't worry, just take care of it and it'll be fine. I would definitely order again from Hirt's. I couldn't be happier with how well they're doing for the price. Thanks for the great sundews!

Never again.
The first sundew I ordered I received in good time, but that doesn't excuse the poor packaging. The plant was in a tiny pot wrapped carelessly in a plastic bag which was held by a tightly-wrapped rubber band. When I removed the plant, I found it almost completely dead. It's got one green spoon: the rest is black and basically rotted.9GreenBox purred to replace the plant, and I promptly received shipping confirmation to expect arrival in the next 1-3 business days. SIX business days later it finally showed up - ridiculous inconvenience - and though much healthier than their first attempt, it's nothing close to the 3"potted plant promised.I've ordered sundew plants before from other vendors (to be shipped overseas, even!), and they showed up in good time, as well, with completely healthy plants, care instructions, AND a small supply of the long-grain moss needed for planting. 9GreenBox sent nothing but a receipt. I will not order from this vendor again. How would you like it if someone strapped your head to your feet, shoved you in a plastic bag, and shipped you? <-that's how 9GreenBox ships their plants. If you wasn't quality carnivorous plants, buy from Joel's Carnivorous Plants. He actually cares about his customers, reputation, and most importantly his plants...plus he sells through Amazon, as well.

Can only hope that these eventually grow to look like this pic
This picture is extremely misleading. The plant came very healthy, but very tiny. There are only green leaves in the center and it is small. There are 3 spindly flower legs that have tiny buds on them. Can only hope that these eventually grow to look like this pic. I bought this to show to my class next week, but I am not even bothering to take it in. I am just going to bring in the venus flytraps.

A hardy plant!
This spoon leaf Sundew is so cute. I received it in a nice box, and it was already growing, but sort of like a baby. The sundew is still alive to this day, I have had this for at least 2 years now. The sundew grows tentacle like arms, and than puts red hairs filled with a nectar to lure bugs to it. Once the insect lands on the spoons, the liquid gets the insect stuck, and eventually the sundew digests the bug. Very hardy plant, and very beautiful! It looks like dew drops on the hairs, very cute.

Picture is misleading, go buy one you can see and pick out.
The picture htey have for this plant is misleading. The plant I got looks nothing like the one they show here. There is one customer picture of what the plant actually looks like when you recieve it. I guess she named her plant Betty. I thought it was going to be one big plant just like in the picture, but instead its like a tiny cluster of them. I guess I should have looked at the pictures more closely and saw Betty so I would know what it really looks like. When I recieved my plant it was in a little plastic pot with a dixie cup taped over it. It looked pretty sad when it showed up, but that is what I expected. It would have been nice if they would have put it in a pot that was a little bigger too. I replanted mine in a 3" pot and it looks better. After spending about $15 bucks in all, (that includes shipping the new pot and peat moss I had to buy to replant it) I should have just found a nursry and bought one for $11 that came just how I wanted it. I wanted a spoonleaf sundew like they show in the picture, but like i said it looks nothing like it. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because it isn't dead..............yet.

Arrived healthy and ready to be potted
I didn't give it 5 star rating because it was not really what i thought i was getting.. The plant came to me in perfect condition and still alive and healthy looking (i should note that im a prime member, i get it in 2 days not a week+) my only problem was it was not potted for me, it just came in a moist zip lock bag already rooted in rockwool (i assume its rockwool) with the 3'inch pot included. I have peat moss and perlite laying around so it wasn't a huge deal, but i expected it to be potted in some soil, so i didn't have to plant her right away... The picture shows some long stems coming off her, and she just doesn't have that either, but maybe that was a seasonal characteristic of the plant, im not sure....Also make sure you read the paper that comes with it that explains how to care for it... I made the mistake of putting her in some coco loco soil, which has wiggle worm in it,, it was too hot for her, she started to show signs of death haha I washed off all the high nitro soil and put her in the peat moss and perlite, so fingers crossed she makes it...
