This thing works
Works very well. Sometimes need to open the camera's battery door and push the unit up but after that it works without flaw.

Works for Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Pricey when combined with the power supply, but rather shell out the $$ than take the chance of running some aftermarket power source into my $$$$$ camera. Canon branded so no worries about that compatibility. I was a little concerned that it looks like the electrodes are in a different position than they are on the batteries, but it works fine once it's plugged into the camera - and don't forget to remove the little boot on the camera that allows the cable to be routed out of the battery enclosure so the battery door can be closed completely, or else the camera won't turn on at all.

Perfect fit for the Canon 90D!
This was just way I needed to complete my setup for time lapse photos. So far it has powered my canon 90D well and I have got some good Timelapse photos thanks to the constant power supplied to the camera. It fits the 90D perfect with no issues.

Works Exactly as Desired for Canon EOS R
I recently started using my Canon EOS R + 35mm lens as a webcam for much more professional video during online meetings. I know this is definitely overkill, but if you have the gear already, why not? It's nice to be able to blur the background naturally through the camera's aperture instead of the background blurring effect in the meeting software.Anyway, I needed to essentially plug my camera in, so I could use it all day without needing to exchange batteries multiple times a day. I bought this along with the required Canon AC Adapter AC-E6N, and the 2 together allow you to have your camera running off AC power.I see a lot of people giving low ratings due to not knowing they needed both parts. I guess Canon could have been more clear, but it was understood by me before I purchased. The reasoning is sound, to allow you to use the power brick for more than just one camera. I hope that I only need to buy the inserted adapter when I decide to upgrade in a couple of years, instead of having to repurchase the whole setup.

A pricey, but properly functioning device
I am giving this product four stars instead of five simply because I believe the cost is excessive. However, the product works well, and being an OEM part I feel safe trusting my expensive Canon EOS cameras with the power delivery. I purchased this to power the Cameras all day long, primarily for video conferencing. A little wasteful perhaps, but I'm pleased with the results. Both the cameras I use this with (a 5d3 and 7d2) have small rubber seals that can be moved to allow the cord to easily flow through with the battery door still closed. I do not noticed excessive heat from the Cameras as I have seen reported on some devices when using these external power packs. I have also seen a lot of comments about the needless "extra" power connections, however I am happy that it connects the way it does, if someone were to catch a cord it would pull the attachment point apart instead of causing a lot of extra force on the camera, potentially avoiding expensive accidents.

How much better can it be than to get rid of multiple rechargeable batteries.
I have six stock batteries that required frequent charging doing video work on the 5Dmkii. I also have a couple of large 12V (4800-9600mah) batteries that are designed to mount onto a large variety of camera mounts, arms, etc. This thing takes 12V and reduces it down to camera voltage. It fits perfectly in the camera. The reviewer that had problems fitting it did not have enough patience. It took a while and then all of a sudden, it fit like a Canon part in a Canon camera. The cable attachment seems a bit flimsy and I know I will need to be sure not to pull too hard on it. But, I'm going to buy another one or two so that I have a spare and can use it in any of the stock battery mounts provided on other equipment like monitors and motors.

Impossible to use this without spending another $125 on the 7D
I bought this to power the 7D. I was under the impression when I bought it that I could plug it into the battery charger that came with the 7D in order to power it. That is dead wrong. In order to power this, I would need to buy the ACK-E6AC Adapter Kit for another $125 in order to have a way to plug it in. What a rip-off.
