Excellent tool, performs as advertised
I purchased this, Pro Axle Press by Derby Worx, for my son's first pinewood derby car. We followed the directions, which were further supported by some youtube videos, and it performed exactly as it should. The die seems like it is precision crafted, and is solid and heavy despite its size. This press, by itself, does not bend anything. So ignore those reviews saying it does not bend -- it isn't supposed to (it requires another tool for that)! This tool has two functions: straighten the nail/axle, and shape the nail/axle head.I'm new to the phenomenon that is pinewood derby racing, and all I did was follow the directions. This tool, by itself, isn't going to guarantee your car a win -- there are many more aspects (as I learned, through much research) needed to ensure the best chance of victory. However, this tool worked precisely as I expected it to, as it is advertised, and definitely helped the car's performance. I saw a product similar to this at a craft store, and that one did not look as precise as this press (the reviews from the cheaper one were not very good either). I also purchased the companion, Pro Rail Rider Tool by Derby Worx (which DOES bend the axles). Together, these two products are a great investment, as I figured my son would be building cars for several more years.I would definitely recommend this product.

Well made little tool.
We bought this mainly to use with the Rail Rider Tool. I didn't think that this would really straighten axles much, but after observing some axles in a drill press during filing, using this tool, and then returning to the drill press for polishing, I found that about half of the axles we ran through this improved substantially. It is well made and solid, and measurement with calipers shows that it is definitely precision.

Used this and other items to Win Every Heat and Championship with fastest MPH and Quickest Times.
I used a number of tools, treatments and lube purchased on Amazon and ended up with the Highest MPH, Quickest Time for the entire night. No other cars were even close and at the shutdown area past the finish line where all the other cars safely stopped, I had to try and catch my car in mid air as flew off the end of the track after each Heat.End result: about 10 MPH faster than the next fastest car and the closest any other car came at the finish line was 2-3 car lengths.Take your time, pay attention to detail and use the right stuff and you too can have a winner.Search the internet and you will find lots of tips and information.

Made well, but only marginal results
Couldn’t tell a difference before vs after. The cone feature merely popped the nail heads completely off. The product seemed well made, just not a good concept.

Definitely a must if using standard Axles
There is not much to this little guy but it works. The included instructions are great, follow them and cleanup your axles before correcting them with this and you will be on your way to 1st place... Well, we got 3rd place. (It was both mine and my sons' first time building a PWD car, and he was the youngest in the pack)

Also Bends Photo Etch
Item was purchased to be used as a photo etch bending tool. Works very well for that purpose on limited applications. With a little research this company could produce a very versatile tool, multi-hobby tool.

Did a fine job of straightening the nails and squaring and truing the heads.
