T-RexFerociously Strong Tape, Duct Tape with UV Resistant & Waterproof Backing for Wood Brick Concrete and More, 30 yd x 2.83", Gunmetal Gray, 1-Roll (241358)

A little over 6 months ago, I bought some of this tape and used it to make repairs to a tarp.Fast forward from January, the tarp has ben out in the sun and rain continuously and degenerated to the point of uselessness... but the tape is still in place and holding strong. This substantially exceeds my expectations. This stuff is TOUGH and it adheres very well.

The adhesive strength is terrific. Obviously that makes it a bit tricky to remove but it's not too tough. Great stuff.

The fabric is weak enough to tear by hand (which is handy, since cutting is a gooey mess), strong enough to last much longer than common plastic film with embedded threads. The adhesive is thick and soft, so it glues to rough or pitted surfaces better than common duct tape. However, it's terribly fussy. A whiff of dust, the merest hint of moisture, grease, oil or lipid defeats it. It doesn't adhere less well to less-than-pristine surfaces, it pretends it has no glue at all. It sticks to itself (front to back) pretty well, and to itself (front to front) extremely well, but those aren't usually as useful as sticking to other surfaces would be. Also, the thick soft adhesive means that even when it does stick, the entire tape is vulnerable to being pushed around, skating on its own slime. I've found places where it's excellent, generally where the surface can be scrubbed before and covered after application. OTOH it's disheartening to tape up a cardboard carton that seems perfectly clean (but can't be effectively cleaned), and watch the T-Rex fall off under its own weight as if it were so much satin ribbon. Perhaps a trick I haven't discovered would solve this, but as it stands T-Rex seems ideal only under ideal circumstances, like being able to wipe with acetone and dry with a heat gun before application. Most of the places I've used T-Rex in the 10 months I've been using it, it was later replaced by something less expensive, with less tensile strength, that sticks better.

I’ve tried 3M heavy duty, gorilla grip all weather, and dewalt Ultra tough. This tape beats all of them in adhesive stickiness and tape strength. Quite surprising to me as all 4 of those name brands are quality and I’ve not heard of t-Rex prior to my purchase. Dewalt ultra tough was a close second. I’m very pleasantly surprised at the adhesive stickiness and thickness of the tape. It’s pretty much the strongest one I was able to find and I will be ordering more.

I consider this to be the equal to Gorilla Tape. I get whichever one is cheaper at the time. Honestly, between them, the only way I really know which one I am using, is to look at the label. I consider that a high compliment to this tape, it is good stuff. Don't use it somewhere that you don't want permanent. I taped something to my office wall with it, and it took some paint off the wall when I removed it.

I had terrible luck with Duct tape and Gorilla Tape but this T-Rex tape is amazing! It sticks, stays and holds up to some pretty aggressive abuse. I used it to fix a bandage onto my horse's leg after she was injured and it was the only thing that held up to her abuse. I've since used it for other things and it's never let me down. It's pricier than the other tapes and is worth every single penny.

This tape is STRONG. It resists hot currents of air and pressure pretty well. You could technically use it to block a window off. Prepare to replace it periodically, I wouldn't say too often, but extreme heat can mess with it. I also use it for packaging- it's not as elegant as transparent tape, sure, and if you really want transparent tape I'm sure they make an equivalent version of that. But it gets the job done and doesn't disappoint.

The tape was used to tape a box containing a 70-pound item, so adhesion and strength were really, really important. The width of the tape was perfect for our use. The tape adhered extremely well but we noticed that the edges of the tape didn't completely adhere to the box (it was a heavy-duty cardboard box), so we went over the edges with clear packing tape.The package travelled across the country, completely intact, so I would highly recommend this tape when you need a really heavy-duty tape.

If you need a very strong tape that sticks a lot, this is the tape to buy! It is even so sticky that if you try to take it off, you should wear gloves. I didn't and it torn out a bit of my skin on my fingers. This tape is meant to be installed and kept in place for a long time. Not torn off soon after use.

But it for a specific purpose and it worked perfectly

Ordered two rolls. The first roll was good but the second has had multiple sections that are unusable due to the glue separating from the tape when it is unrolled. Top marks for adhesion, but it is so sticky that two strong people are needed to unroll it.
