1200W Silicone Rubber Heating Blanket With Controller, for Metal Bucket &Guitar Side Bending

I've bought many of these blankets to bend guitar sides. As far as the blanket goes, it is of fantastic quality. I would say just a shy step down from a keenovo blanket. The plug that it comes with is also fantastic. The electrical cable they use is also much better than a keenovo. Keenovo ship their blankets with a 16 gauge wire, while this one is set up with a 12 gauge wire; which I really really like. That way the wire doesn't get hot when it's drawing amperage.The bad part of these units is hands down the analog controller they send it with. These controllers are highly inaccurate and will not react fast enough to temperature change.If you don't want to run the risk of burning wood or anything else, do yourself a favor, buy a digital controller.TCS Custom Woodworks sells a temperature controller that works perfect for this application.You'll probably need to do some small electrical work to get rid of the analog controller that comes with the blanket so you can just plug it directly into the digital controller instead.Other than that, the quality of these blankets are awesome. I'm a big fan of them.

The temperature control does not work correctly and quickly reaches over 300 degrees on any setting. We burned our material multiple times and Amazon refunded our money. We purchased two of these to bend Azek for moldings around a circle window. We turned it on and turned it off based on our heat sensor gun, but it wasn't accurate enough and we kept burning and warping our materials. Both units behaved the same so it must be a bad design. Read other reviews and you will see similar details, I discounted them but now know it to be true. DO NOT LEAVE this ON and walk away!!

Works great! But it does get very hot so be careful!

Make sure you clean this heater blanket before using. If not your shop will fill up with a foul smelling smoke, which can’t be good for your lungs. Even after I cleaned the blanket with alcohol and soap, the blanket still put off some smoke, which I’m hoping will dissipate with use.Other than that, the heater seems to work for bending guitar sides and wooden binding.

Came with no instructions on how to use it or which temperature setting to use.

I bought this to use for bending wood, I opened the box I plugged the heating blanket in & it heated up before I even turned the controller on?? This is Very dangerous****It got so hot it was smoking in less than a minute. I'm returning this its defective.
