As a first time mom, trying to swaddle with a blanket was an absolute nightmare, my husband and I just couldn't figure it out and baby kept wiggling out of the blanket. We bought several different types of swaddle sacks, but the sleepea is hands down the best swaddle we have tried.I am going to put the review I wish I found when looking for a swaddle:1. Material: Very light weight and soft. We live in Florida and baby boy was born right in the middle of summer, so we were also worried about him being too hot, but the mesh venting helps keep him cool and makes us feel so at ease. We have not had any skin irritation issues with this swaddle at all.2. Velcro: the Velcro portion that swaddles the baby is amazing and such a genius concept. It makes it ease to get baby in the swaddle snug and at a comfort level that they like. The Velcro is also very quiet compared to other types of Velcro. It does still make noise, so don't be fold thinking it's noiseless.3. Fit: The other swaddle sacks have so much fabric and bunched up near his face, which made me so nervous. The Sleepea is designed so well that it does not bunch up near the babies face and fits them very well. I noticed on other swaddles the zippers hit under their chin or rub against their neck, but there is a little zipper garage (lol not sure what it called) that covers the zipper, so it doesn't touch their face.4. Usability: It really lives up to the name "5-second swaddle", it is that quick and east to get your baby into the swaddle. Our baby does occasionally get his arm out of the swaddle (he is a little Houdini), but the design keeps his hand in the sack still, but we do at times find his fingers poking out of the top (he is 3 months old, so he wants his fingers in his mouth constantly). But, it's not that much of an issue, and it doesn't seem to bother him. I also love that we can continue using the swaddle with his arms out when he starts rolling as there are little plastic buttons on the sides, so you can put their arms through.Overall, our baby boy absolutely loves it. We made the mistake of only buying 1 in the beginning and ended up buying 3 newborn sizes and 3 of the next size up.Our baby is now 3 months and uses this swaddle for every nap and at night. He loves it so much that when he is swaddled, he instantly calms down and falls asleep in a matter of minutes.If you are a first time parent (or even if you aren't) I cannot recommend this swaddle enough.

We tried a lot of swaddles at first time parents and always came back to this one. It’s easy to use, warm for baby but breathable with the mesh parts, and has lots of room for baby’s hips and legs to move. We also liked that it has openings for baby’s arms when transitioning of a swaddle. Only negative: the material that Velcros over baby’s arms is different lengths depending on what colour you order. Our baby outgrew the teal one way before the grey one (yes, they were the same size and washed the same way) so we didn’t get nearly as much use out of it.

Our son was in between the small and medium and so we went with the medium knowing it would last longer but it may have been too big. We were looking for something that would help him not escape every night and thought the zipper on the outside would help this but he still managed to wiggle his hands out. (Again maybe we ordered the wrong size). I did really like the quality of this and it was nice to have the velcro parts not be a ton of extra material but it didn't hold his arms in super tight. The zipper on the outside was one thing I was looking for in a swaddle and I do love that the arms can be free. I've seen a lot of positive reviews about this so I do think it is a great swaddle, but just order the right size :)

This is the only swaddle out of all the swaddles I’ve purchased for my baby that has helped him sleep well without breaking his arms free. He is now learning to roll so we have transitioned to the arms out which is super handy that way he can still have the compression from the swaddle part while also having the freedom to move his arms around. The fabric is super soft and the Velcro doesn’t come undon.

I dont usually write reviews but figured this may help someone avoid extra work. My LO just made two months 3 days ago and her last doctor's appointment weighed 11lbs and 22in long. I ordered a M with the expectation we would at least get a month's wear before sizing became a concern. The M is for 12-18lbs, but doesn't offer the length. There is barely 2 inches for LO to stretch her legs and its snug when zippered. Unfortunately due to lack of inventory in a L, I will have to choose a color I dislike or wait 3 weeks.
