Programmable mode is great but the lights lack a lot of brightness control
I love the programmable aspect but I find that the manual setting leaves a lot to be desired, and the led bulbs themselves can’t go very dim at all. When the unit is migrating from one brightness to another the lights snap on and off without any fluidity.

Love these lights. The price seems like it’s high but honestly, it’s worth it. Plants grow. The lighting scheduling makes it so nice.

Cool smart light until.....
Pretty great product. In a “smart” world, it’s really great to be able to control and adjust your aquarium lighting to your specifications using your phone. Having the ability to preview a custom schedule is pretty cool. My ONLY complaint, and it’s not really that big of a deal is that it’s not super bright. The stock light that came with my tank was considerably brighter, but always had a blue undertone that drove me crazy. So while this light isn’t as bright, the fact it’s easy to set up, use, and customize, makes it an excellent purchase.UPDATE:After only a couple months of use it stopped working. Moisture had gotten inside and it just completely quit. I dried it out but now the lights dim after a few minutes and it will no longer connect to bluetooth. Unfortunately since this is from a third party seller, fluval will not honor their warranty. I’m SOL

Avoid this light!
The design is great, the size and thickness is great, the app is sufficient and easy to use. Connects quickly, awesome!....except the light failed on me in less than 60 days. Yes, completely dead. It's been sitting on a GLASS lid, not mesh or open top, glass lid.. And it is completely dead now, just stopped working, now it won't come on or connect.This light is trash. Avoid at all costs. Buy cheaper, no-name leds that last forever.

Avoid this light! Fluval really blew it on this one.
I was really hoping for a less expensive version of the Fluval Plant 3.0 for my 20 gallon tank. I don't need all of the "bells and whistles" of the 3.0 for my grow out tank for my snails, but I was hoping for at least a bright white light that I could have on a timer. Nope!I HATE this light! It isn't even bright enough to light up a standard 20 gallon aquarium, let attempt to grow any plants. And you cannot turn it off or on without grabbing your cell phone to use the app!The only good thing about it is that it has a low profile on top of the tank.Either spend the money on the Fluval 3.0 or get a totally different light.
