higher dose omega-3 supplement for kids
I did quite a bit of looking to find a gummy-type chewable omega-3 supplement for my son and I am quite pleased with this product. It seems like many of the Omega-3 supplements for kids are either "chewable" gel caps (not really sure how that works, but I read a number of mixed reviews) or, if they were gummies, they didn't have as high a dose of omega 3s as I would have liked. These are on the more expensive side, but I like that the first ingredient listed is actual fish oil. They do contain gelatin, but do not contain any artificial coloring (color is from paprika extract).Of the ones that I found, the dosage PER GUMMY of the Nordic Naturals are comparable to (but better than):Dr. Sears Go Fish Brainy Kidz Omega-3 DHA soft chews (100mg DHA), price roughly $.60/countRainbow Light's Gummy Omegalicious (108mg DHA, 22mg EPA), price roughly $.12/countNordic Naturals Omega-3 jellies have 100mg of DHA, 150mg of EPA and 50mg of other Omega-3s and cost roughly $.59/count.I gave my 4-year-old son two today. He thought they were "cool" because they were shaped like fish and bright orange.** I tried two as well and, to me, the flavor is rather innocuous. They smell slightly fruity and taste slightly the same - not super-sweet or tart like candy, but I would not expect that, it's fish oil in disguise. I did not smell any fishy smell or taste any fishy flavor, nor did my son. As another reviewer indicated, each jellie comes in its own little blister pouch (for freshness, I would imagine) and they are slightly slippery to the touch (presumably from the fish oil).I may continue to look periodically to see what else is out there, but these fit the bill for us for now. I would definitely give this product a try.**For a while we did have him on a "lemon" flavored Carlson fish oil supplement (which was fantastic and packs a punch with Omega 3s. I will likely finish it so it doesn't go to waste) but after a while he got sick of taking it every day - it was a liquid fish oil supplement and really, for a 4-year-old, he was quite a champion about it, so I didn't feel like it was fair to push the issue with the liquid stuff and we've looked for something more palatable.

Talk Fishie to Me!
Nordic Naturals Omega 3 Fishies are a fun and healthy supplement for any child or even adult in need of some extra Omega 3 in their diet. My 3 year old son was struggling with speaking and it was recommended to me to add an Omega 3 supplement to his diet to help improve his speech. I did a lot of research to determine which supplement would have the best quality of Omega 3 as well as something my child would actually want to eat. I have determined that the Nordic Naturals Fishies were the best option for my son and I have been very satisfied with them. The vitamins are a vibrant orange color in the shape of an actual fish. My son loves eating his little fish vitamin everyday. Furthermore, the results have been fantastic. We have been giving my son these supplements almost daily for about 6 months now and have noticed a significant improvement in his speech ability. The fish are a bit oily and I have noticed an inconsistency in the oiliness of the packages I have received. If they aren't oily enough they do stick to the package. This doesn't effect the product too much, there is only a little residue from the supplement left behind in the packaging when this happens. Also, although my son loves the taste and enjoys eating his fish supplements every day my 6 year old daughter did not like the taste of them and will not eat them.

They have a nice bubble gum fragrance and they don't have a strong ...
My son (two and a half years old) has been crazy about these for a long time (six or eight months). They have a nice bubble gum fragrance and they don't have a strong taste. I have tried them and can report no bad effects. As a baby, he always got Nordic Naturals infant fish oil in his bottle. After he turned one, I tried to switch to Nordic Naturals children's strawberry fish oil. That did not go well; he didn't like it. I have to admit, the smell of the strawberry flavoring was pretty sickly sweet, on top of the fish oil. I wish I had tried these orange fishes back then, but I didn't know about them. I only knew about the fish oil chews that were coated in sugar, which my son did not like and I personally did not really feel good about giving him sugar coated supplements, either. it's such a dumb idea: sure, I know I'm probably the only parent in the world whose 18 month old would not go out of his way to accommodate my getting a toothbrush back behind those molars, right, crazy but true; so for awhile, that meant avoiding sugar coated sugar gelatin, at least until he understood that teeth need to be THOROUGHLY cleaned. Luckily, he likes fish and has eaten it a few times a week or more since he started solids.Anyway, I've bought several boxes of these on Amazon and from the grocery store, and I have never had a problem with them. My son still loves them and tries to do favors around the house to 'earn' one. Failing that, he tries to sneak them.

5 stars
I have tried several forms of Omega 3 fish oil for my kids. This is the only one that they tolerate (ages 11, 8 and 5). The fishie is a bit tricky to remove from the foil as I have to take care not to tear it. It is not a gummy, which I like because gummies are not good for their teeth. This is more of a thin, slick (from oil) vinyl feeling thing that is very easy for them to chew. I love that they are finally able to utilize fish oil in their diets. Excellent product, good flavor compared to other products that my kids claimed had a much more "fishy" flavor that is hard to mask. Good job, Nordic Naturals. We are on our 4th box. I can only find these on Amazon and I live in NJ. They are not in Whole Foods or Vitamin Shoppe. I will continue to buy.

Great project
They’re pricy but the quality seem good and the kids like them.
