The title of my review says it all. My partner needed some safety shoes with steel toes for her new job. These Cat footwear shoes were the most stylish pair I could find that would also arrive overnight. When we received them I noticed that these shoes are HEAVY.As a former shoe dog, I know that a normal non steel toe shoe would typically weigh about 1 lbs each, which would be 2 lbs a pair. These feel like they weigh about 3 lbs each. They look great on, though. They also look brand spanking new after over a month. My partner did add an insole for comfort as well.I would recommend these shoes if you want to look at least somewhat fashionable at work while also getting the job done. They will take some breaking in or getting used to. You might walk like you’re wearing Frankenstein shoes for a while at first lol.

Got these for my son who works in a warehouse unloading semi trucks and he loves them. Comfy but still provide protection where it matters most.

Good shoes for work

I have only had my CAT work shoes for 8 months but I have only worn them for about 30% of this time so we are talking only about 2.5 months of NORMAL USE so I think it is only fair to write my review in 2 parts, Positives and Negatives .POSITIVES:Great design, comfortable to wear and heavy duty slip resistant and great toe protectionI particularly like the reflective materials on top which make the shoes very visible in chaotic environments with fork trucks and robotic vehicles running around every which way.NEGATIVES:The only negative bout these shoes is the poor materials used for the upper part construction.First of all the shoes LEAK which makes them useless in environments where there is a lot of spills on the floor.Then there is a problem with the rubber material around the front. This material tends to disintegrate when it comes in contact with oil, even the smallest amounts. The material goes soft and "bubbles" as you can see in the pictures.Once that happens, the material easily tears apart, at which point the shoes are no longer useful and have to be thrown away.I only went with these shoes for the BRAND (CAT) and now I am highly disappointed that my expensive work shoes only lasted 2.5 months.
