Great gift- you can never have enough tiles
I looked at several sets of these tiles for a four year olds birthday, I settled on this set because it had enough variation with the pieces and had the car pieces (the other sets were a bit small or large to then add the two piece car set). I also purchased the road add on set, which was the cherry on top. The road set can be used with hot wheels and other cars- so it’s great! Easy to clean pieces.I went with this brand of tile vs magformers or Picasso because they were strong enough to build decently, and can be lined up with various other brands (magformers are stronger so you can build higher but won’t connect with any other tile brand).Tons of creative possibilities (ball runs, little houses for figures, you can also just lay them down and creat 2D pictures). They also just released a new set with cars and ramps/roadways.

Parents love playing with this too!
This was a great purchase to spend quality time and interact with the grandchild. You can add on to it also, I recommend the storage box for the mom to be happy, but definitely worth the cost.

My 5yo loves these!
My 5yo has been enjoying making different shapes, buildings, and giant cars with this set. This is a great experiential educational set. A bit on the pricey side, but great if you can get it on sale. My son built our downtown with these and has been learning how to form pentagons and octagons out of other shapes--geometry lesson win!

Great add on set
This set is a wonderful addition to our magnates collection. My son wanted more to be able to build larger structures and this additional set is perfect. He also loves the two pieces that can be the base with the wheels for building vehicles. Our other set isn’t magnatiles brand, but has the same magnet set up to the pieces (look at the pictures to be sure your magnets look the same) and works perfectly. My son has had a lot of fun building much larger designs now!

Kids ages 1-8 love them, me too!
We’ve purchased several large magna tile sets throughout our kids lives, with our youngest being 1 and our oldest is 8. No matter how many we have, we honestly can always enjoy more. There is always more to build and creations to make larger. This is a great starter or add on set that gives you enough pieces to actually make something. It comes with 50 pieces -4 Large Squares12 Small Squares16 Equilateral Triangles2 Hole Punch Triangles4 Isosceles Triangles10 Right Triangles2 Car BasesWe love the giant squares, the small squares and the cars the most, so this set gives a decent number of those fun pieces! Ours have held up great for 7 years with no signs of deterioration. I think my favorite thing about them is whenever my kids get them out, they actually sit down and play with them for more than an hour, sometimes even up to whole mornings or afternoons. That cannot be said for many toys we have, these just really pull them in and encourage their creativity!

Not just for little kids
With my youngest being 11, I was unsure whether these Magna-Tiles Grand Prix 50-Piece Set would get played with. I was pleasantly surprised that not only my 11- and 12-year-olds immediately started playing with it, but even my 21-year-old sat down with them. My youngest told me they have Magna-tiles in school and was happy to have some of these at home. After unboxing, he played with them quietly for about an hour, which is an hour less on the computer. The next day, he immediately started playing with them again when he came home from school. He asked me to put more sets on his Christmas list because he found that this one set was not enough. So it looks like my concerns about age were unfounded. The tiles are made very well. The colors look nice and the magnetic force holding all these tiles together is pretty strong. I am very happy with this set and will definitely look into buying more.
