A-Premium Front Hood Lift Supports Shock Struts Replacement for Toyota Camry 1997-2001 2-PC Set

Fit perfect. Upper ball on existing shock was to hard to remove SocI just took new upper stud off and shock went right on. 10 minute job. Note I thought these might have been defective since I tried to push them down before installation. I didn't want them to bend my hood. I installed one and it worked perfect. Installed the other with no problems. Hood moves up and down better than new. Would give 10 stars if possible. If you can remove your mount on hood easily do it if not it's easy to remove the one on new mount and install. People say lock tight might have been used on factory mount. I didn't want to strip stud. Easy fun job.

I replaced the original hood struts on my 2000 Camry with these and they were easy to install and have the right strength to hold the hood up even on the coldest days in my area. The hood is much easier to lift now. I'm glad I ordered these. Good value.

Pretty easy to install; but, there isn't enough room on the hood-end stud for the thickness of an open-end wrench.You might be able to take the stud off of the end of the gas spring, and have better luck installing it that way.The rod is substantially smaller diameter than the OEM, so the bearing is smaller too. This could lead to faster wear.If it lasts half the 18 years the original lasted, I'll be happy.

These are awesome and super strong for an aftermarket hood strut. I highly recommend if you find it troubling to put it on where it brackets to the hood. Try and lift the hood up higher I noticed this was a problem for me and once I did that everything lined up. Good luck!!

They fit my ‘98 ES300 Japan built without issue. Plenty of strength and well built. No issues with the bolt hole being too small. Great buy!
