Q: If the T4 and T8 are almost identical under what circumstances would someone need a T8 at twice the price?

While in terms of function the two machines are almost identical, The T-8 is rated for continuous use while the T-4 is rated 30 minutes on 30 minutes off. The T-8 has a 250mm x 50mm stone with a replacement cost of $232 as opposed to the 200mm x 40mm stone on the T-4 with a replacement cost of $144 - obviously the 250 x 50mm wheel will sharpen many more tools before needing to be replaced.
