A top-tier choice for intense moisture and skin barrier support
The Sebamed Extreme Dry Skin Relief Face Cream with 5% Urea is a highly effective skincare product designed to provide intense moisture and relief for those with extremely dry skin. With 5% urea as one of its key ingredients, this face cream helps to restore the skin’s natural moisture balance while also aiding in exfoliation to remove dry, rough patches. Urea is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture into the skin, making it ideal for dry, flaky, or cracked skin. The cream has a light, non-greasy texture, which absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky residue. It’s great for those who need hydration but don’t want to feel weighed down by a heavy cream. It’s particularly beneficial for sensitive skin as it is formulated without fragrances or harsh chemicals, which can irritate already delicate skin. The pH-balanced formula (5.5) matches the skin’s natural pH, supporting its barrier function and helping prevent further dryness or irritation. The 1.7-ounce (50mL) bottle is convenient for both daily use at home and on the go, and a little goes a long way, making it quite cost-effective despite the higher price point for specialized skincare. While the cream is highly effective for dry skin, users with extremely sensitive skin should patch-test first, as the urea content can be strong for some people, especially those with eczema or other skin conditions. Additionally, though it’s excellent for hydration, those with more oily or combination skin may find this cream a bit too rich for their face.Overall, the Sebamed Extreme Dry Skin Relief Face Cream is a top-tier choice for intense moisture and skin barrier support, especially for individuals dealing with chronic dryness. Its gentle, hydrating formula makes it a trustworthy option for those seeking long-term relief from dry, irritated skin.

The Cure for Retin-A Flakes
This stuff is brilliant. It actually fixed my Retin-A flaky skin problem. My only issue is that it is highly scented.

Soothing for "extreme oily skin" too!
I've had sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin since I was 9 years old. I'm also Scandinavian-pale, so every single blemish or irritated area shows up vividly and stays visible for a very long time, even after healing. Having been into skincare for about the last 10 years or so (I'm 28 now) I felt that I had a pretty decent handle on my skin; it was still troublesome, but not the trainwreck it was in the past when I knew nothing about the chemistry behind how skincare works.I picked this up for the urea content because the winter was making my skin too reactive to the usual acids I use to exfoliate and I have very "active" skin that tends to kind of stickily hold onto itself instead of shedding off properly with big huge pores (genetic). It can be oily, flakey, and grainy all at the same time, even when I'm using very gentle PH balanced cleansers and layering hydrators on it.The effectiveness of this simple formula is top-notch. The moisture actually sinks into my skin instead of sitting on top of it, and I've been able to cut out my other actives without suffering clogged pores and breakouts. My skin barrier feels so much better and more bouncy, and while I still produce a lot of oil it's on a more manageable scale. It dried matte enough to not interfere with any makeup application and I'd put the texture somewhere between a light cream and a gel. It's definitely not thick and stodgy. The smell is slightly powder-ish but pretty inoffensive in my opinion. I like it better than the Hada Labo Plumping Cream and Premium Lotion, which were some of my previous go-tos.I have fine hair and an oily scalp, so I want to try the urea shampoo in this line as well and see if it does a better job than my dandruff shampoo!

I can see and feel the moisture
I use this twice a day: first thing in the morning after washing my face and again in the evening. I have dry skin, so I put this on my face directly after washing my face, while my skin is still moist. It keeps my face moisturized!

Worst urea-based product I’ve tried - ruined by Vitamin E?
This stuff just sat on my skin- remaining sticky and highlighting the delightfully uneven texture of my forehead. My face looked a bit glazed, but not in the way Haley Bieber promotes. My skin also looked a little uneven with it on- and possibly a little redder but I have rosacea and many things can trigger that. I applied it my normal way (on wet/damp skin) and the recommended way (on dry skin). It was only worse on dry skin. I tried the basic moisturizer by Simple and had basically the same experience. I’m pretty sure it’s the vitamin E. Whenever I use the pure stuff it’s like wearing a mask of honey.***FYI: the grainy bits are dried product. Urea gets crusty real fast when exposed to air (I have a lotion with 10% urea in a pump bottle and dispenser is crusted over almost completely within 12 hrs). I’m not a fan of a wide-mouth container for sanitary reasons, but it’s even more impractical in this case because you’re exposing so much of the product every time you open it. If this product works for you, I would transfer it to something with a dispenser and a cap if possible. You won’t be able to get every last drop, but the equivalent might dry up in the original container anyway. (If you bought the larger quantity, make sure you replace the cap after each use).
