UPDATED REVIEW - When I received the unit, the retaining ring to secure the top cap was screwed in so tightly that I could not open it with my bare hands and the pin tool provided. A professional grade strap wrench did not help either. After I reported the problem in my original review, the company contacted me to make things right and they offered to replace the unit with a new system and to provide complimentary replacement filters. However, I had been able in the meantime to unscrew the excessively tight top, literally using a hammer and a pin chisel on my workbench. The original unit is now installed under my sink and it works as hoped. It is a very sturdy stainless steel housing and although I had to pound like hell to unscrew the ring there is no big damage besides some scratches that do not affect operation. So, despite the inconvenience, I declined the offer of a replacement unit, because I am satisfied with the quality of the filter and it works well. The company representative has assured me that they have been working on the problem to avoid retaining rings being screwed in too tightly at the factory. They have still promised to send some replacement filter cartridges for my trouble. So, customer service in response to my original review has been outstanding, actually. Just keep in mind that metal-on-metal friction can be way more than what one gets with similar plastic units and stainless steel is also very hard, but I think that they can correct this problem fairly easily. As an engineer, I actually recommend this product. The stainless steel housing is exactly was I was looking for. It is very sanitary and it should last indefinitely with minimal care, which is not the case for plastic systems. I like the faucet that comes with the unit, it is very good. Installation was a breeze and no leaks. Also, the connectors and adapters provided worked perfectly well with my water system. So, in the end I am very satisfied with my purchase, despite the initial hassle of a stuck top cap. If you encounter a problem, the company should be very responsive.

very well made. stainless thick metal. so it wont crack like a plastic housing. I had the on the sink filter with carbon (burned coconut shellls that are ground into a powder and strained). PUR, but the filters are more than $10 and only last me a month- that depends on your water. some places they can last 3x longer. I installed a newer more modern sink faucet with pull down sprayer and sadly couldnt use the pur filter on the sink. the water did not taste as good even though i still use a zero water filter. so I got this to try, the replacement filter is only $20 supposed to last 8K gallons. We only use it to drink and cook, so it ought to last a while. like the stainless head matches faucet. easily installed it. no leaks at all. wonderful, the bracket is really strong well made and thick for supporting the heavy metal housing. shouldn't rust. will comment again later to let know how long filter lasts but its at least 5 to 6x longer than the pur sink filter so it ought ot last me 6 months minimum. I'd even be happy with that. $40 for 2 filters a year vs $10 or more for 12, is 3x cheaper. less filter changes. exactly same type of filter and taste. I like to get the chlorine and other things out of the water. after this filter we use zero water in the fridge in the pitcher and once that is all done it taste like deer park spring water. thanks. great product. also at the moment the manufacturer is sold out, but its available here on amazon.

I just installed the filter, instructions were good and straightforward, no leaks, taste good so far.

We hunted for a good filter system that didn't take to a whole cabinet. It couldn't be plastic, because they will crack eventually. We learned that from experience. This one was everything we were looking for. Metal case, easy installation, great filtering, wonderful flow. We are quite happy with it. And the replacement filters don't break the bank.

I did receive the first, However, I did not get the canister or the filter with it all.I got were the accessories in package. Reordered, now there's an issue with shipping evidently.I was not meant to have this

I received this and was impressed with the quality and design. It took about 30 minutes to install with the help of my son. We ran the water from the filter for 10 minutes as instructed and the water came out crystal clear. At first it was almost dirty looking so I was worried. Be patient and wait at least the full 10 minutes of constant water running and it will clear. Taste was great too. Good purchase for us.
