I was looking to fit a second monitor to an upper shelf of my computer desk. The shelf itself is quite narrow, and while the base is weighted and fits neatly on to it I wanted to some extra security should the unexpected happen. So I decided a desk clamp of some sort would be ideal solution. Most of the listing I checked out were either more industrial, plastic or insufficient. Then I happened upon these desk divider clamps.The clamps themselves are made of alloy and painted in a metallic silver finish. There are some flaws in the finish and casting when closely inspecting them but in situ these shouldn't be noticeable. The clamping surfaces are both padded with a light rubber foam to protect your desk, or in my case my monitor base. There is also some adjustability in the clamp to allow for surfaces that aren't square. The fingers that grip the divider are quite weight and can be removed. There is a rubberised plastic insert to grip the screen and prevent it shifting. I've left these in place despite not needing them as they may become useful for holding other thing in place.Despite not using these for the intended purpose, their adaptability only serves as a bonus. They undoubtedly will hold divider carefully in place between desks but they are capable of serving other functions thanks to their design.

The hex bolt that you need to adjust to increase the gap between the clamps is incredibly tight - I nearly returned them as defective, but eventually managed to apply enough force to open the clamp while also bruising my hand.As others have noted, the pads they have to cushion the clamps fall out almost immediately once you open them and are near impossible to keep in place.

The clamp came off as the adhesive pads became loose and dropped the perpex sheet.

Bought 2 pairs of these and only 1 pair had both the rubber pads in them so only able to use 1 pair at the moment
