The Animals at the Zoo: An Illustrated Rhyming Picture Book for Children Age 2-5

This cute rhyming story provides a tour of the zoo that includes several types of animals and helps kids learn simple facts about each one. The rhyming text is well-done, and the illustrations are colorful and eye-catching. In addition, I really liked the extra activities for the kids (a map of the zoo, a look-and-find that helps kids identify the animals in the book, free coloring pages, etc.) This book is the whole package!

This is a real treat. The text is a delight, with carefully crafted sentences that include lots of information (numbers, colors, animal info, etc) in just the right amount that easily engages the readers and listeners. The illustrations are beautiful and cheerful, like a real visit to the zoo. I highly recommend it for little ones and their parents, and every animal lover for sure!

This book is adorable. It gives a child a sense of having a personal tour guide at the zoo! So many fun facts about various zoo animals. I'm a big fan of early rhyming that this story shares too. Bonus points for the fun interactive ways to encourage children to comprehend their learning and kids will enjoy the seek and find activities too. Great for toddlers and preschoolers, as well as, early readers too.

I read this to my 4 year old grandson. We both enjoyed it. My grandson kept pointing to the animal pictures while saying, “Look grandma, a turtle, giraffe, etc. The writing is good and the illustrations are diverse, cute and colorful. I liked the interactive exercise at the end of the book, “Did You Notice?”

The book is easy to read with the rhyming cadence. My favorite stanza is the ostrich page. I enjoy how there are more than just your typical zoo animals. The authors promotes multiple read through with the thoughtful questions/activities at the end of the book. Children will ask to read it again and again

This is such a cute book! It introduces young kids to many of the animals they’d find at the zoo. The illustrations are great, and the rhyming story is fun to read out loud. I especially loved the activities at the end of the book! This is a wonderful book for bedtime or any time!

Loved the very rhythmic story taking us through this zoo visit and learning little tidbits about each animal. Makes me miss our zoo visits! Also has educational, fun activities in the back of the book as a bonus.

My granddaughter (18 months) loves this book with the narrative and animal sounds. She imitates some of the sounds and gets very excited
