Hat is made from resistant, Oil Impregnated Cotton. The Knockabout can really take a beating. Made from a thinner, lightweight cotton material for maximum comfort. Mono-filament support embedded into the edge of the brim, allowing the hat to be crushed and maintain it’s distinctive curved styling. A great hat, it can be rolled-up / crushed and packed. It will protect you from the suns damaging rays and improve your look to boot! Hat brim is approximately 36cm (14") front to back, tip to tip. Brim width is approximately 8cm (3") from the crown to the tip. Crown height is approximately 10cm (4") high. This will vary between sizes. - Hats are Hand-Made in Australia. Every hat is unique although similar. May not be identical to photos. - Size will be determined based on your selection. A different size may be printed inside the hat as; due to the elements size may change from time of manufacturing, as the leather settles. - After some wear, your hat will form to your head shape and size. The hats individual character will emerge influenced by you and the elements around you. A perfect fit is not necessary when new.

Excellent hat for those hot humid Florida days
This Akbura cattlemen style hat, hand made and shipped from Australia is a must for folks that need better shade than a baseball cap. Especially if you have skin cancer on your face. The hat fits comfortably on my head with chaffing. The size chart was spot on for the circumference measurement of my head. Not only is the hat stylish, it is a working hat that is light weight, and its best feature is the mesh top that immediately exhausts the heat off of your head as you sweat. The brim is a light weight leather material with an outer steel rim to hold its shape. It's got a crocodile dundee look to it. Only down side, minor as it is that it did not come with lanyard holes for working in those hot Florida coastal winds. The hat was well worth the money and the wait for it to be shipped from down under to Florida where I hang my hat.

Looks great, fits great, works great!
Overall I'm very happy with the hat. My size is right between 57cm/22.25" and the Medium fits me perfectly. To be clear about oilskin since some reviewers seem confused - this is a fabric hat, NOT leather. The material is indeed thinner than leather. The hat has a microfilament brim "wire" to hold the original curve, but is not really re-shapeable. By the way, the brim seems a little curvier and wider than the photos suggest... the width on mine is around 2 3/4" or 7cm.

I have really liked these hats I have2 Breeze Hats black and brown. I decided to get 2 solids a Tan and black. My Tan hat arrived and it was stuffed in my mailbox I opened it and it wrapped fine but it looked like someone wore it before it came to me. The black one never arrived. The breeze hats are put together much better.

Perfect summer cowboy hat
Perfect fit, and shipping was exceptional, I that the hat holds it’s shape and even though it is not leather, it’s light weight, perfect for summer days, very comfortable with this purchase, and the little extra gift was a nice touch.

RETURNS ARE NOT FREE
I tried to return the hat. They sent me a return label so I could ship it back to them (in Australia) using a carrier of my choice. It was not a postage paid label which meant I would need to pay $45 to ship it back. The hat was just ok. It was very small and barely fit my head (female). And it was greasy.

i am happy the fit is great. will the light material hold up thru time will it hold its shape hold up.

Nice cool sun protection with style!
This is my favorite hat now. I use it mostly for working in the hot sun which i do a lot here in SoCal. Keeps my head cool and does well in the wind. I like that its Australian and not country USA western looking as thats just not my thing. Be careful how you grab it off your head as the mesh can get wrinkled over time if you grab and pinch too hard while taking it on and off a lot.
