This is just about perfect for the application
This is just about perfect for the application: a small to mid-sized notebook computer you want to elevate to use as its own monitor--making use of a separate keyboard and mouse. There is a flip-up lip to keep the computer from sliding down, no matter how steep an angle you choose. It's very easy to set the stand up each time, and the incremental, numbered dials allow you to -- well -- dial in your preferred setup. The stand is very light and folds flat, though this configuration is still too big to fit into my computer backpack (no point subtraction, since doing something different would probably cut into the supreme sturdiness for such a light stand). The surprises people would probably have with this are that it's very (1) light, and (2) thin. But that's really what you want: (1) makes it easy to carry around, and (2) makes the aluminum stand even better at removing heat passively, i.e. without the need for a fan. The lightness can give a sense of instability, but I don't believe there's any chance of dropping your notebook due to the stand's failure -- only through your misjudging the center of gravity.Don't buy a heavier, more complicated one -- no need. Don't buy a plastic one that won't remove heat well. Buy this one.

Most portable and convenient of the laptop stands
This was my second try to find a good stand for my small laptop (11-12") that can double as a lap desk when I don't have a desk or table. I have neck and shoulder problems, so I wanted something to hold my laptop up at eye level for use together with my wireless keyboard. The reason this stand was better than the two other options I considered is that it is more portable and more versatile:Portable:This stand is the lightest of all the foldable laptop stands I could find. It should be titled "Small!" or something, because it is much smaller than the other stands with similar construction, which in my opinion are ridiculously large, unless you have an extra-large laptop.Besides a larger stand of similar construction, I also considered a folding, portable DJ-style laptop stand. Although this stand does not fold up as compactly as the DJ-style laptop stands, I chose it because it is far lighter, and it still folds into a flat, convenient size and shape, so it fits in my bag for trips to the coffee shop or library.Versatile:I also prefer this stand to the DJ-style laptop stand because this stand is comfortable for use as a lap desk on a couch or bed, because it has legs that go on either side of your lap. The legs would probably sit comfortably on your own legs if you have a wider lap.Compared to the DJ-style stand, the legs-on-either-side construction makes it more handy for tabletop use as well, in my opinion, because my coffee and food or books fit neatly right below the laptop.Drawbacks:The main drawbacks I find are fairly minor for my own use: for some reason the top is not vented, unlike many of the larger versions of this same style of stand. If the metal top were perforated, it would be both lighter, and especially useful for those who have overheating issues with their computers (My laptop doesn't overheat, and the metal might be thin enough that it would still help somewhat with overheating issues, since it gets the computer up in the air). The second drawback is that unlike some other similar (larger) stands, this one also doesn't have any kind of protective lip around the edge to prevent sliding, and the surface seems rather slick. I don't plan to use the stand at an angle much, and my laptop has rubber feet that keep it in place, so I am ok without it, but this might be worth considering if you do want to use it at an angle. The last difference isn't really a drawback, but it has one less leg-and-joint than the bigger models, so it probably isn't useful to convert a sitting desk into a standing desk. If you are handy and can get the parts, it looks like it would be possible to just add another set of legs. For me, I am willing to forgo this because I want a portable, light stand, and this one already gets it tall enough to be eye-level when I am sitting. If you are 6' or over, it might not be tall enough for you when sitting, if you want to sit up tall without bending your neck at all, and have a very small laptop like mine. This stand has room to spare for my 11-12" laptop, and would probably work for up to 15 inches or so.

Exactly the right fit.
This is perfect for my tablet. Very lightweight. I use it in bed and also when I have my feet/legs up on the couch. I wanted a stand that wasn't too wide and this fits great. I was using one of those 3-sided cushioned stands and it was too low. I followed the suggested quick set-up instructions for the "couch" setting. (There are also suggested settings for Desk and Standing Desk.) Thereafter I adjusted it a bit more for my comfort. Their recommended settings for couch are Joint A 21 and Joint B 4. I adjusted it to 20 and 7 so it's a bit taller. Its VERY adjustable - you may have to try a few angles until you find whats right for YOU. Also the little notch in the tray happens to be great when you are charging.

Not too shabby!
I purchased this on behalf of a coworker. The package came quickly and better than described! The product is great for reducing neck strain, and once you get used to typing at the odd angle, it is a relief on the wrists as well. I would give it four stars, but when I tried it out I felt that it was a little difficult to set up, and my laptop didn't stay on it as well as it has a narrow bottom lip for the laptop to hang on by. A thinner laptop than the Lenovo ThinkPad that my work has issued would probably stay on just fine. I also felt that it needed the benefit of an extra set of legs, like the one I ended up buying from the same manufacturer, with three legs instead of two.

Help for strained necks
This device is going to save my poor strained neck. It is thoughtfully designed (for ex., a hole just where you need it for the charging cord), solidly made, and, as advertised, light weight, so it can be moved from room to room or taken on a trip. The only downside mentioned by others was the difficulty first setting it up, because the numbers meant to guide the customer were not particularly useful. So I ignored them, and just set it up by instinct, accomplishing the task in about 5 minutes. Did I mention that I am a 78 year old woman with post-polio disabilities? If I can do it, anyone with acceptable eyesight and two working hands can do so too. Bravo to this company!
