Q: Why does this product than other products more expensive ??

In the late 79’s to the late 90’s we used Safety Seal Brand Plugs. At that time we used them on Semi Truck & Trailer. We used the longer truck style on those. The dealer that sold them to us had a Chevy Van, each of his tires had aleast 25 to 30 plugs in tread and sidewalks to show us how much he trusted them. He drove all around Arizona in the heat there and in the time I’ve know him, he never had a flat or blow out because of the plugs. So, it’s the QUALITY, that stands them out from the rest.

Q: So, other than the 2x the number of plug ribbons, what is the difference between the two safety seal kits....kap and kap30? thx

Per the Safety Seal website....the KAP has 60 plugs vs. 30....the KAP also includes an Allen wrench and extra set screw for the handles, where the KAP30 does not. However, I bought the KAP30 in 2/14 and it included the extra set screw, Allen wrench, and razor blades at that time...the only difference was the amount of plugs.

Q: How long will the plugs last in storage? I live in a desert area and it does get hot, will they hold up?

These plugs need to keep their moisture, I would put them in plastic ziploc bags if your worried about the heat. As long as they don't dryrott they will be fine.

Q: Can the handle be removed from the reamer and insertion tool so I can carry a single handle in less space on a motorcycle?

yes, both handles are removable with an allen wrench
