This pump has a LOT to prove!
I have a 1989 Formula PC29....and the pump I had in it went bad.....When I pulled it out....the date stamp on the "Shurflo" pump was.....1989!!!!! It was the original pump! So this "SeaFlo" has ONE tough act to follow!I can tell you that the poor old Shurflo had been failing for a while and I am guessing that is why it was so LOUD! It worked...so I didn't mess with it....I just thought it was a loud pump!Now after installing the Seaflo....WHISPER QUIET! A HUGE "Night and Day" difference!I read a ton of reviews about threads not matching the stock configuration....I had NO PROBLEMS! "Bolted" right up to my existing PEX lines!I did have to get a little creative as my original pump did NOT have a strainer on it....so I had to mount the new pump in a different area, but that's not the pumps fault.....So far (it's been LESS than a week!!!) I have been impressed! The pump works fine!One thing you may want to be aware of....is this pump DOES have the "5 Min on...10 Min off" cycle, so if you shower with it....plan accordingly! I don't think that was covered in the info on the ad.....We will see if it lasts! I see some reviews stating "Mine died after a year".....but we all know it could be a million factors that caused the issues.....

Failed after 1 month
The media could not be loaded. 2 weeks in the sound changed and water wasn't pumping. I went through the instruction manual and went through the troubleshooting checklist. There were a couple I don't know how to check for ie: punctured pump diaphragm. I called Seaflo left a message with no answer so I left a message still waiting to hear back. I watched youtube videos and couldn't find any information except one video of a guy with a 18second clip of exactly the same problem I am having and he is asking how to fix it I tapped it and took it out shook it and reinstalled it then it started working. I checked for debris but I am using the filter so I saw nothing in the filter or the valves. Since I am still working on my van conversion and it started working I thought maybe because it was sitting for a week and needed a jolt .. 2 more weeks and it went out again this time nothing it working. I am debating opening the top and check for debris or something since the shurflo has a similar problem but I will wait to hear from Seaflo first. Overall I think I have a defective one and hope I can return it.
