what is the clamping voltage?

How difficult are the safety covers to open? Do they spring back into place if a plug is removed?

The covers have ridges on them and can be pushed with a finger or thumb to cover/uncover the electrical outlets.   They have sufficient resistance to not open without being pushed, so they don't open due to movement of the surge protector due to cleaning, etc. There are no covers for the coax and phone line jacks.

Question 3

How wide is the strip? I need it to fit in a 2” wide cable tray and need to make sure it fits before I order.

The TPL706TELC is about 2-1/8" wide.  It will not fit 2".

It's 11-3/4" long plus 1" for the electrical cord to turn.  It's not going to fit a 2"

Does it protect all 8 pins on the ethernet?

The protection is to stop surges coming in on a single copper wire coaxial cable. The coaxial cable connects to the surge protector's "IN" port; a second, separate piece of coaxial cable connects from the surge protector's "OUT" port to the back of an internet modem.  An ethernet cable connects the modem to a PC or connects a TV to a cable box, but never does any ethernet cable connect to a surge protector.  It's best to have two surge protectors, one for the input to the cable box (for TV) and one for the input to Computer.  Actually, having two surge protectors for the computer may be necessary, to have enough electrical outlets.  I have tested this for over a decade and no damage to cable box, TV, computer or peripherals to computer.  It is vital to provide a good ground to the devices, even if that means providing local grounding. Indicator lights on these surge protectors show if the ground is good or not, as well as if the protection circuits are good.  After about five years, replace the protectors as they wear out, if you don't want to risk getting burned out gear.  Having lost a cable box and tv at one time, it's a lot less problematic to get a top quality protector.  My home PC has been in service for six years, nothing wrong with it.  Risk of ground faults--if you have tall trees near your central grounding spot, lightning strikes nearby may feed back into the dwelling ground.
