Don’t buy
Do not buy this carburetor for your 70 Chevelle SS 396. I checked the boxes through amazon that this was under compatible for my 396; wrong! Even though Amazon says it fits, it does not fit over the intake manifold correctly leaving 1/8” of open space at the front of the car.

Was a big improvement.
I was really impressed by the difference this Edelbrock "improved" Q-Jet carburetor made compared to the 2 Carter Quadrajets I had used on my 7.4L 454cu BBC V8.
