There are so many baby books and many are full of quotes and frilly rubbish, with many more pitched at "commando" dads etc with patronising advice like 'hey, maybe skip the pub one week out of 6 and keep your Mrs onside with a foot rub'.This book, on the other hand, is fantastic. It's approachable, well structured, practical and friendly. It's laid out a week at a time in digestible chunks. I read it through once and then we read the weeks to our baby (and ourselves!) one week in advance. Babies don't all do the same things at the same times, there is a lot to think about and you worry about things you had never even thought about before. This book is a roadmap, a calm and informed voice with no ego and no nonsense. It has clearly been written by a smart and emotionally intelligent author and was a great source of information and reassurance to us in the first few months. Can't recommend it highly enough!

It’s a good overall view on the first few months of having a newborn and how to prepare. It’s missing a few details that could be wise to have in the book, but it also has amazing insights on other areas. It’s a great resource for first time parents or people who don’t have much knowledge in the subject. Would rate it a 4.3/5.

Nice little book that's easy to read and navigate for any worries you may have bringing up a baby. Basically, mostly what you can find online, but in one place

This is a quick and short read. It provides some general information. But for me this book alone is far from enough. The good thing of this book is that as I’m reading it, I would want to know more details or have some more specific questions, which may be found in other books or through online searching.

As a first time mom this book is so informative and helpful!! So grateful for the author 🩷
