Very effective device
I bought this because my ring battery wasn’t holding its charge as well as it once did and this was only slightly more expensive than buying a new or second battery. It has been up for a couple of weeks and the battery has remained at 100% the whole time. It is summer but we are north facing so I don’t get direct sun on the unit. The cable is long enough that I could put it up quite high and still have cable coiled up. I was tempted by the ring solar panels but I was concerned that the sun is never on our front door. So far no complaints at all. If I remember I’ll update this in the winter!

Simply doesn't work
Does not work on ring generation 1 video doorbell

Functions well
When bell assembly with the wire plugged into the battery the charger didn’t work. Had to cut the usb connector off and wire it to the back of the bell for it to work properly. Maintains battery at approximately 98% charge

Great solar charger
I had to extend the length of the cable but it charges the ring doorbell perfectly. I’m one year in now and it’s still working strong.

Excellent product
Bought this solar for my ring doorbell 2nd generation, I found it easy to connect and set up, no more taking battery off to recharge which was a pain. Only connected three weeks but battery is always full, only downside I could only buy it with black cable. It should also be available in white. It’s still worth the five stars excellent product and seller I would highly recommend.

Fantastic solar panel for 2nd Gen Ring
This took no time to set up and charges our Ring back up to 100% easily. We did cut a small section of hedge away so that it directly faced south and doing this made all the difference. It has been in place since middle of January (UK) and the Ring is still at 100%. It records a lot of action as it is on a main road so this shows how effective it is to keep it on full charge. No more having to fiddle around charging the battery up. We are really delighted with it. A great buy!

Faulty and returned
Easy to install and connects directly to the battery charging port. Initially seemed to work, then after a few days the Ring app battery charge status reported the charge level was at 209%. Needless to say I disconnected the panel and once the battery discharged it never worked again. Returned to Amazon, refunded and bought a new battery instead.
