Excellent workout with numerous options to keep you fit and entertained
Yesterday I tried this game and completed a good 45 minute work out on medium level; and today I certainly feel it!!!I enjoy working out and typically go to the gym 4/5 days a week. But in looking to get a better work / life balance and save time where possible, I have been looking for home workout options that I could do at least twice a week to compliment my gym workout and elminiate travel time.I do not care for workout DVDs, thus find the fitness games on the Wii offer fun, entertainment and a challenging workout. I enjoy Wii Fit and Sports Active, thought My fitness trainer was just okay and quickly resold the Pilates as I got nothing from it! So in trying to find the workout that really gave me the challenge I was looking for I turned to this!Last year I saw the reviews of the 2009 version and was able to cancel my order in time - this year the reviews for the 2010 have been good, so I went ahead with my purchase - and so far, I am very happy!First I find no problems whatsoever with the reactiveness of the game - I use it with the Wii remote and Wii fit board and find it really did capture my actions!I am one of those folks that tends to dive right in without reading instructions - this game however is best served by reading the instructions which provide a detailed explaination of each move and how to do it correctly. I really liked the fact however, that you could zoom in onscreen using the Wii remote to get a close up of how to perform each action. The next thing I really like about this is the many choices you have - you can pick on of Jillians workouts, or create your own. You can also create a six month program tailored to your needs.I tried one of Jillian's preset workouts to begin and though I found the moves certainly a work out - the reps were minimum, so I created my own workout - and there are so many different choices of exercise you can create several completely different work outs to get an all over body workout or target specific muscle groups on certain days! There are some common exercises such as crunches and some newer ones that I had never tried before which were challenging. I really like the core / abs options as that has been my biggest peeve about other Wii workouts as these were completely absent!I also like the fact that you unlock music, locations, excerises as you go...I am sure there are cheats out there, but I like the fact that the more you workout the more options become available to you!The graphics are pretty good, music so far is fine and as I had the volume turned lower I did not hear too much of Jillians voice though the encouragement seemed present only when required! My only concern - and this seems to be an issue with all Wii work out games, is the very brief cool down. You can certainly get a tough workout from this so the cool down is important and more stretching activities would have been useful! All in all this is a challenging workout for both those who are just starting out on an exercise program and those who are well established! This will give me the cardio and toning I really have been looking for to compliment my current routine and with so many choices there is little chance of getting bored or your body getting too used to a certain set which can stall progress!I really like this game and personally it is my favorite workout of all the Wii fitness options!

Jillian Michaels May be the Best Thing that Happened to Wii
In true Jillian Michaels form, she kicks your butt with these exercises. If the only workout you have experienced on the Wii is Wii Fit Plus, be prepared for a rude awakening: This is NOT for the inexperienced, as many of these moves can cause muscle strain if you do not use proper form. And Jillian's version of "easy" differs from just about anyone else on the planet (sorry, Jillian, but you know it's true!).The exercises one-on-one are great, but I caution against attempting the circuits until you are familiar with the individual exercises, for the reason I just mentioned, not worth it to strain yourself. I thought the ABS circuit would be a piece of cake -- it was so intense, my legs were shaking for roughly half an hour AFTER the workout was over. And the amount of reps in the circuit borders on insane, with 60 reps for obliques, which made my stomach hurt so bad I nearly wanted to hurl (and I am not hugely overweight -- roughly 20 lbs from where I want to be). But that means it's working and as Jillian says, you don't get something for nothing. You have to work hard to reap the benefits. That being said, you may be wondering why I give it such high marks: 1) I am a glutton for punishment and 2) If anyone knows what it takes to make you lose the weight quickly and effectively, it is the Biggest Loser fitness guru who is Jillian Michaels. She battled the bulge herself, which is why I have the utmost respect for her. Also, what I LOVE about this is you can customize workouts, create your own custom circuit. You can customize the workout location: The beach, sand dunes, the pier, a jungle, a cascade, the desert, a mountain cliff and one more that escapes me at the moment. As well as customize the music that accompanies your workout. You can even customize Jillian herself -- well, at least her outfit, which I thought was pretty cool as well. The "game" also tracks your progress, your improvement in each exercise, and your weight. There are 18 different exercises in total. If you don't already own a balance board, I suggest getting one prior to purchasing this as the balance board sensors track how well you are performing each exercise. You can rotate the view of Jillian performing each exercise with you, which I recommend especially for beginners, to ensure proper form. The graphics are some of the best I have seen for the Wii console. Now, Jillian will get on your case if you are performing below 100% and will really get on you if you are performing under 50%, but she also lets you know when you've got it.It is a great workout if you stick with it. If not, well, you don't want to see Jillian angry.

Almost perfect
I love Jillian Michaels. That is why I purchased this game. I like that her workouts are intense and get results. I have some of her dvds and like them. The difference in the dvds and this game is that as you work through one of the 'resolutions' it will intensify the workout. For instance this game started with me doing only 15 pushups at a time. Yesterday during the course of my workout I completed 80 altogether. In this game a Resolution is a preset workout regime that the program choses for you based on how long you want to take to reach your goal. I can already feel a difference in my body in just 4 weeks. Some of the downfalls of this game are that there are no speed control on how quickly she does a move. The sensors do not always track your movements exactly. As in today I did 60 oblique crunches. Although I did each one correctly the sensor reported that I did them all at 50% accuracy. Also sometimes you are to do her move as she does it and other times you are to do the move opposite of how she does it. But those are small things in my book. I think this workout is excellent and would purchase it again. I did not give it 5 stars because of the tracking issues.

Awesome workout game
This workout game is the best. I went from using Wii Fit to this and it was an awesome change. I realized how much I wasn't really working out with the Wii Fit. After using this the first day I was sore for three days! You could just be doing some of these workouts for 20 minutes and already break a sweat. It's pretty accurate in tracking your progress and if you're doing the moves correctly. If you have the Wii balance board it also adds extra opportunity. A+ for this game and I recommend it to anyone that has a busy schedule and can't always make it to the gym.
