Thomas Kinkade Jingle Bells Illuminated Musical Christmas Snowglobe by The Bradford Exchange

In keeping with a tradition I started 5 years ago with my grandchildren, I ordered 2012's addition to their snowglobe collection. I ordered the Kinkade Musical "Jingle Bells" Snowglobe With Swirling Snow in late August. It appeared detailed, picturesque, had animal interest, and had a switch to move the snow around (which would eliminate the need for the children to invert or shake) the globe. I had the globe-gift sent to its destination (which eliminated the need for me to transport in my luggage in December). I gave the recipients' father instructions to open the package immediately and try out the globe's mechanism several times. (I learned from last year's experience when the 2011 globe's mechanism failed to rotate the train after the first two successful uses. This happened months after it was sent so there was little chance of returning the globe.) I received a report that this year's globe's mechanism seems to be operating without fail and that the globe is 'a beauty'. The ordering process was simple and efficient and the seller (Aris Treasures)sent the gift well packaged, in good order and it arrived at its destination promptly. Good selection! Good communication! Good service all around!

My fiance loves snow globes. This one is the ultimate snow globe! Lights up, very detailed, and the snow blows around the globe when the lights are on. VERY COOL!!

Thomas Kinkade is WELL known for his exquisite art work. Unfortunately this is not up to the same standards. It is nice but as an owner of some of his artwork this is just disappointing.

I'm not ordinarily a fan of seemingly overdressed holiday stuff, and so I was at first not too sure of this one, given that some of the Kinkade things can seem, maybe, to be just a little over the top. Harkening back to my childhood, I was really looking for a simple, but quality, wind up musical snow globe, that played Silent Night, had a warm cozy something going on inside the globe, and had "snow" swirling instead of glitter, but, no luck finding anything close to that, in that combination. So, I started looking for the next best thing, something of quality that emulated home and warmth and just Christmas goodness.This globe, with the home scene of warmth, the "snow" in the globe, the lighted features, and the winter scene outside seemed to fit the bill, and I was very happy when I received it. The only drawback is that the "Jingle Bells" is a bit of a drab tune, and not a mechanical music box of course (which I knew), but my disappointment was that it is a bit of a tinny sounding tune, which is the only reason I did not give it five stars. I would think they could have done that aspect a bit better. However, the globe conquers that with a volume slide, to turn the tune volume down, or totally off.The BEST thing about this (aside from the fabulous lighting and detail of workmanship) is the little blower inside that keeps the snow swirling! How great is that, for a snow globe! The snow "swirls" as long as the song plays (volume up or down) and it has three options -- continuous repeating play, one time push button play, or play the song (and swirl the snow) just once, and, at the end of the song, the lighting stays on. The quality does not feel "cheap" and it seems it will last, as a family Christmas keepsake. In a dim room, with the tree lit, and Christmas candles lit, this is a very beautiful little item that serves as a very warm and homey Christmas accent or even center piece in a display or at the dinner table (given that it looks great from any angle).It does take batteries, so keep that in mind, but, if you are wanting to keeping it going constantly, it comes with specifications for an adapter that you would have to find and purchase separately, to plug it in to the wall. A great item, a very "Christmassy" feeling to it, and I would recommend it to those looking for a warm and cozy family Christmas keepsake, who don't mind a bit of a tinny retro sounding rendition of Jingle Bells, or, like me, are happy to just enjoy the lighting and the animation of the swirling snow and turn the volume down to skip the music.

Bought this for my mom for Christmas and I bought it a few months before Christmas because the seller only had a few left so I was afraid it would sell out. I didn’t think anything about it until my mom opened it for Christmas and the globe was cloudy it looked like it had been used the screw for the batteries was stripped. Not all the lights work and there wasn’t an adapter or instructions in the box. Because of Amazons policy I am out the money I paid for a defective item

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. It is a bit on the heavy side for a snow globe, but you never have to tilt it upside down because the pump in the globe automatically swirls the snow about. The lights and music really pull this all together. This is a wonderful addition to her snow globe collection and is her current favorite.

Got this for my mom as a Christmas gift, and she was thrilled. The detail is wonderful, the colors gorgeous, and the sound is really good. You have the option of a button that will create snow falling down on the village. This is so beautiful, I will get them for other family members in the future!

Love the looks of the globe , great detail and a perfect Christmas decoration . Disappointed with the quality of the sound , music is muffled and sounds very poor , and it is sold with out a power adaptor .
