There is nothing to dislike about this book. I study Heiser usually in my biblical studies but this book is up there with the best.

Why the complication?
I was very excited to get this book. I have seen a few of the Gen6 productions that the author made with Steve Quayle within the past year and I was happy to read more to get informed. Please note; that I have only read the first few chapters and wanted to share my perceptions thus far. So this is not a conventional review. I was lead to writing now, as I have only read a few chapters and certain things are not sitting right- so I came to back to Amazon to check the review of others to see if they shared some of my initial perceptions. They do. In any event, here are my observations.1. The author's tone is very condesceding. He persientently writes 'down' to the reader and makes snide remarks about Christians and their beliefs from the get go. What gives? If the author is a born again Christian and has something to share from the Lord to help other believers in these turbulent times- why adopt such overtly critical, dismissive and hostile tones? That, in itself, is a gigantic red flag! Jesus Christ who is the Word and Creator of all things never spoke in this way to people during His time on this planet. The fact that the author presents himself as knowing Christ; and then he proceeds to disparage Christ followers is baffling and directly against the nature of God.2. I am educated up to Masters level in Law. An informative writer knows how to present complex issues in simple language. This author's writing style is unnecesarrily complex and off putting. If he truly had a timely message from the Lord, why would he present that message in such complex terms? If he is only speaking to the so called 'intellectual mind' then he is clearly not representing the Jesus Christ that I know. Jesus Christ came to set us free by the truth of His word. He didn't come to confuse us by using complex and complicated language. Well done to the author. His writing style reminds me of the hubris and arrogance of many in the legal profession. I thank the Lord for setting me free from that stronghold. I am not going to entagle myself in it again from an author presenting himself as a Christian who only speaks to 'intellectuals'.3. The author consistently places 'science' over and above the Word of God. He dismisses Christian belief that has yet to confirmed by science. According to him- it is nonsensical, and it is only a question of time before the Christian's foolish blind belief will be confirmed scientifically. How ignorant. Case in point- he fully subscribes to 'germ theory' in causing disease. This has been disproven even in the scientific world- which he holds supreme.I am not sure if I will continue reading this book. The Lord lead me to it for a reason. Perhaps to see for myself, how deceiving people are in these last days.If you are Christian and are considering reading this book. Might I humbly suggest you seek the Lord's counsel first.
