Ultimate antioxidant at a good price
ALA is supposed to be yellow, and this one has the bright color and unique smell that ALA is supposed to have. I put this into capsules because I know from the smell I don't want to taste it. Much has been written about the efficacy of ALA as an antioxidant that is both fat and water soluble, and Dr. Nicholas Perricone writes about its importance in his books, both for topical and internal use. I keep some of it in a small jar in my bathroom so I can add a pinch of it into my serums before bedtime. The unique smell keeps me from doing this in the morning, and do not get it in your eyes because it stings. It may sting your skin a little depending on how much you add, but to me it's minor, much less than a strong AHA would sting. It may be low-tech but at least some of it seems to be getting into the skin, and it helps with the overall appearance of the skin. I mix it in with my serum and then top it with a moisturizer to help push it into the skin.I chose the ALA from BulkSupplements because it's good quality and pure, which means a little goes a long way. I had some ALA capsules I had purchased before that were horse-pills but I was able to use much smaller capsules due to the product being pure. The price is reasonable considering how much you get out of it, plus I am able to use it topically because there are no other ingredients that would interfere with it. Once again, thanks to Bulk Supplements, I am able to benefit from another supplement because I can get it at a price I can afford. I am seeing positive results on my skin immediately; I can only guess at internal effects. It's cheap insurance compared to being unhealthy in the future, and I'm all for doing what I can to make sure I stay healthy. I always ask myself is this cheaper than a doctor visit and/or drug prescription? If the answer is yes, I go for it.

ALA is vital in so many ways!
Alpha lipoic acid, or ALA, is an amazing compound with a large number of health effects.it is produced in the body, and is extremely safe, with no known tolerable upper limit In Europe, it is available by prescription.A brief, and incomplete, list of the powerful effects it exerts would include:* anti-aging effects* liver function* glutathione synthesis* antioxidant activity of its own* toxic metal chelation* cancer treatment and prevention* reduction of vascular disease, including heart attack and stroke* In diabetics, improved glucose uptake AND mitigation of peripheral neuropathy* Slowing cognitive decline in Alzheimer's diseaseIn a mouse model of multiple sclerosis, ALA is known to slow disease progression; Effectiveness may eventually be established for humans, too.For an easily readable overview of ALA, how it works consider reading the bookThe Alpha Lipoic Acid Breakthrough: The Superb Antioxidant That May Slow Aging, Repair Liver Damage, and Reduce the Risk of Cancer, Heart Disease, and Diabetes by Burt Berkson, MD, PhD.ALA is rarely taken alone, as it works better when taken with certain supplements, which it will also help them.1. Creatine: BulkSupplements Pure Micronized Creatine Monohydrate Powder2. ALCAR: BulkSupplements Pure Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALCAR) Powder3. CoQ10: BulkSupplements Pure Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) PowderIf you think you need oo would benefit from ALA, your should already be taking creatine, too.If already trying to treat a neurological, mood, or cognitive issue, or addressing high blood pressure, or blood sugar issues, take ALCAR and creatine with ALA.CoQ10 may not be called for unless there is a serious cardiovascular problem or other major health issue. Or perhaps you just want to take everything plausibly beneficial, for longevity. Either way, it makes no sense to take CoQ10 without taking ALA, since they work so closely together in the mitochondria. If you are taking both, for whatever reason, you almost certainly want to take creatine and ALCAR as well. All 4 are safe. All 4 side effect free. All 4 are made in the body. Without supplementing sooner or later, 1 or more will be in short enough supply that some disease state emerges.ForTrivia: Eating raw egg whites has the potential to block ALA absorption.

This product not safe!!! Will burn lips & tongue. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!
I used the 2/4 teaspoon it was like it multiplied into like a paste. I said well maybe this is normal. So I took a sip out of my cup. Some of it stuck to my lip like caulk and my tongue. It immediately started burning my lips and tongue like fire. I went to wipe it off and literally had to scrape it off. Some stuck to tonsil and I literally had to cough and cough and drink liquids for about an hour. I am literally worried right now about someone working at that company trying to hurt people. Do not , and I repeat DO NOT buy this.
