Fantastic saw
I have purchased an additional spare blade S651 even though my original still has plenty of life after 2 years of use.Not only does it cut clean and straight, after a fair bit of practice, but you are getting 2 saws in one.The rip side is aggressive and tears through the Ash that I tend to use more often than other woods and the fine cross cut leaves a finish the needs little to no sanding or planing smooth.5/5 a real gem of a saw.

this is the saw you need
This brand (Gyokucho) is the singular value in Japanese razorsaws. This combination of teeth is the best in this style of saw for a mix of hardwood and softwood. it's very sharp. it's perfectly made. It's a pull saw so it cuts straight and easily, unlike the nasty mitre saw you inherited from your aunt. The blade is thinner and the teeth last longer than a shark saw. If you are in construction you will appreciate this saw slightly more overall and regret slightly more (as well) when you saw a nail. But not as much as most of this species of tool.if you have not owned a Japanese razorsaw, you are missing one of the basic joys of human existence.Since this brand is hardened at the factory you will prefer to buy a new blade rather than learn the ancient yet tedious art of saw sharpening . That's what this product is - a replacement blade. Get the one with a handle for slightly more if you're just starting out. The blade will last you two years if you are a determined weekend warrior and much less than that if you use it on the job.

Holds edge. Tackles hardwoods effortlessly
This is an excellent replacement plate. Very sharp and holds its age. I work mostly in beech and cherry. This cuts through hardwoods with minimal effort.
