BUSHNELL 20 x 50 Binoculars - Great value for ££££££££££!!!
I have been purchasing binoculars for around 43 years now, and have some of the best manufacturer's binoculars, including Zeiss, Green Kat, Bushnell, Hawke, Viking, Steiner, and many others. I just needed to replace a pair of 16 x 50 binoculars, that had somehow, got knocked, causing a double image! How this happened, when stored in a cupboard, I do not know!! Anyway, once I'd attached the strap/lanyard, I gave these 20 x 50s to the test. In fading, evening light, I could still see things clearly, and ID birds that were 1/4 mile away! They are of a good build, and although they are relatively cheap, this doesn't mean that they are rubbish, as they are not! These 20 x 50s, really are 20 x 50s, and not 8-10 max', by 50, like a recent pair I purchased via Amazon UK, turned out to be (a real con!! they were supposed to be 20 x 50, but were actually 8-10 max', x 50s!!). Marks out of ten: Clarity of image, in low-light conditions: 8/10. Light gathering in good light conditions: 9/10. Dioptre use: 9/10. Weight: 9/10 (not heavy at all, even for this disabled, old codger!!) Ease of focussing: 10/10!! The 'rocker' is a superb feature, that makes it possible to focus, very quickly indeed, even for me!! There is also, very little, 'rainbow effect', around both barrels, when looking through, which is very good for the money paid for them. I could hardly see any! BaK4 prisms are the main reason that light gathering is so good. They feel solid in your hands, but are not too heavy, at all. I will mainly be using these Bushnell Pacifica 20 x 50s for 'Sea Watching', for birds and Cetaceans. I'm sure they will turn out to be, exactly what I needed, at a very competitive price, indeed! Thank you Bushnell for making these excellent binoculars, that even a disabled old codger like me, could afford!! Purchase with confidence, you won't regret it!! - Ian Rabjohns HSM, USM & bar (Dorset Police, retired/England/UK) - from Poole in Dorset, England. Update: A few days ago I carried out a, 'Sea Watch', with my Bushnell 20 x 50 'Pacifica' binoculars .I was delighted to view 3 Harbour Porpoises, using these great binoculars - during my 2nd use! Not bad at all!! Great birds observed included a flock of 9 Little Gulls (the largest flock of this species that I have ever seen throughout my 54 years of 'birding'. I was so pleased to observe these wonderful species, thanks to my brilliant Bushnell 20 x 50 'Pacifica' binoculars!!! - Ian Rabjohns HSM, USM & bar (Dorset Police, retd/England/UK). P.S. Just another update: On 6th December 2024, I used these 20 x 50's by Bushnell, in good light conditions, during another, 'Sea Watch' - they were superb!! I am so thrilled that I decided to purchase (on a limited budget due to my disability benefits!) these fabulous binoculars!! I can't get over all the negative reviews, regarding these bins!! Perhaps I was fortunate to get a great pair?

Excellent...
Excellent set of binoculars. I've had a few cheap ones and I can say you definitely get what you pay for. The image is crisp and clear and well, the insta focus is absolutely brilliant idea. Focus is mega quick and effortless. Just use the rocker to focus in. The case is quality too, fairly heavy duty and robust. I certainly recommend these.

Very poor quality
Not at all the quality I expected from Bushnell. Front lenses are just glued in with a bit of plastic holding them in. (Photos attached). Also not good for garden birds, as the nearest focus distance is about 10 meters, so unless you have a very long garden, these are no good. My wife bought me these for Christmas to watch the birds out on the feeders, but dispite them being about 5 meters away, there's no way these would focus close enough. Also not sure how waterproof these would be with the glued in front lenses, disite them being branded pacifica, with plenty of marine photos in the blerb, not sure these would stand up to any harsh/wet environment.Sent right back for a refund. WIll look to buy something better like my old Pentax UCF G's which have lasted me nearly 30 years, and still in perfect condition, shame they are only a 8x24. So these should have been a massive upgrade at 20x50, but not at all suitable what what I need them for.
