When you can't rely on city officials.
I'm using my PCE-322 A as I write this review to document volume levels from the open-air dance club across the street. I'm getting an average of 91.11 dBC at 12:01am and the Police won't lift a finger.I bought the meter for this reason and am quite happy with my purchase. It is my first SPL meter. I've had it for over a week without any problems and it operates as claimed. The meter is well made and comes with a solid case, AC adaptor, USB cable, manual, software CD and 9V battery. The data logging capabilities are it's best feature in my opinion. It's hard for me to imagine not having this feature on an SPL meter. Compatible with Windows 8.1. The software is comprehensive allowing for a variety of analyses. Graphs the measurements in real time and readings can be exported in .txt and .xls formats. Also has an on screen virtual SPL meter that can operate the meter remotely (see screenshot). I have already submitted my readings to our cities Noise Control Officer. The seemly same meter is sold by different vendors at a higher price (Ruby Electronics DT-8852 is one at $239.95).I have no reservations about recommending this meter. I highly recommend data logging capabilities for any meter. Also educate yourself a bit about sound and measurement scales (dBA vs dBC which is superior for measuring the lower frequencies, loud dance clubs) Good Luck!

Accuracy and recording features!
The instrument appeared to be 'Used' not New and has a deep scratch across the screen. With being Used, I can't depend upon the manufacturer's stated accuracy. I have not attempted to install a battery and use it yet, but I have noted that the mounting screw is near the front and a long way from the Center-of-Gravity. The tripod is too weak to hold the instrument a long way from the CoG and I will need to modify the mount to fit a real tripod.

Calibration trim pot obscured by case
The calibration screw does not align hole provided in the case. Low quality construction.
