Keeps the birds out
I bought one of these a few years back. Recently the cage cracked and busted when I was adjusting it. I needed just the cage but couldn’t find this exact one. So I ordered the whole thing again and just used the cage part. Worked perfectly.

Good price, lasts a long time
Vent installed 9 years ago on a west facing wall where it got a lot of intense sunlight. Upon checking for lint this spring, the plastic crumbled so I got another one. I think 9 years is a good length of time for something like this so I highly recommend it! Was happy to see that this company hadn't changed a thing because it looks exactly the same as the one I replaced! As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" so I expect to get another 9 years out of this one too.

I needed the cage only
Sometime back I purchased an exterior dryer vent kit from Home Depot. I believe brand was "Everbilt" . Over time the exterior cage cracked, the rest of the vent is still perfectly fine. My quest to find a replacement for only the cage part failed completely. Why why why would manufacturers not recognize this part would need replacement and independent sale??Sounds from other reviews like I'm not the only one here who purchased this for the one part of it. At any rate it was the least costly option I could locate and its fits perfectly!

All the important parts you need
I replaced an old metal dryer vent cover whose flapper had fallen off. This is all plastic, so we'll see how long it lasts, but the design is much better. The grid part slips on top of the flapper part to keep birds and other critters from getting to the flaps. Because you can take it off, it makes it MUCH easier to get dryer lint out of the unit. I can't believe how much lint gets past the screen in the dryer itself. This unit comes with a piece of metal duct pipe that can be rolled up to go through the wall and that locks into this cover. I didn't want to remove that part already in the wall, so I had to work with this to get it to go over the existing metal. Might have been smarter to replace the metal as well; that's obviously why they included it.For some reason the unit doesn't come with any screws, probably because they don't know what your siding is going to be. I have brick and while I was able to drill 3 holes with a regular cordless drill and masonry bit, the last hole was in a very hard brick and wouldn't work. Had to use a hammer drill. I mention this because if you have to drill new holes in masonry, you may need a hammer drill, too. The cordless would only go in an eighth of an inch, no matter how hard I pushed it. The hammer drill bored right in. Amazon sells some decent corded hammer drills.

Exactly What I Wanted. Just found it for half the price with an easy Google search.
I truly only needed the screen part. I have had this vent installed on my home for five years. It is great. Unfortunately, the screen part gets brittle after awhile. I wish I could just order a half a dozen extra screens. I found this identical item on line for $13.90. I know where I'll buy the next one once this screen gets brittle and falls apart. Dryer vent Works better then expected
I recently replaced my old beat up dryer vent with this plastic one. It is very sturdy and keeps the bugs and mice out too. It was fairly easy to install for me although I had never put one in before. I have a brick house and used gorilla glue to keep it tightly attached to the house. The lint doesn't build up like I thought it might and to clean it the louvers pop right off and back in. Very pleased with this purchase.

Better than most exhaust covers.
It is hard to "love" a rat proofing product, but this one is much better than any I saw at the local hardware emporiums. BTW, it is designed to accommodate a specific size vent hose/tube. My vent outlet was just about the same size as the tube attached to the item. Consequently, I had to weasel the connection. I cut off most of the tube on the back of this product and formed the remainder so it will fit inside the existing tube. It works OK, but it would be nice if the design made it easier to install in an existing structure.
