Double CD album / Deluxe 24 page large format case-bound book with hard slipcaseParlophone Records are pleased to announce the release of IRON MAIDEN’s new double live album Nights Of The Dead - Legacy Of The Beast, Live in Mexico City on November 20th. Containing over 100 minutes of classic Maiden music and available in multiple formats, Nights Of The Dead - Legacy Of The Beast, Live in Mexico City was recorded during the band’s three sold out arena shows there in September 2019 and is a celebration of their Legacy Of The Beast World Tour which began in 2018 and will finish next Summer in Europe. Iron Maiden founder and bass player Steve Harris comments, “When the final leg of our 2020 Legacy tour this summer had to be cancelled due to the COVID pandemic, the whole band was very disappointed and deflated and we know our fans felt the same. We’d been really looking forward to bringing the show to even more countries and although we’ve been able to reschedule most of our European own-shows for 2021, we thought we’d take a listen to the recordings from the tour so far and see if we could create a definitive live album souvenir that everyone, everywhere could enjoy. I’m very pleased with the results, especially as this set list includes songs which have never made it to a live CD before, such as For The Greater Good Of God, and other older songs like Where Eagles Dare, Flight Of Icarus, The Clansman and Sign Of The Cross which haven’t been included in our live set releases for many years. We’ve never released a live album from Mexico before and I think this recording does justice to the passion and joy of our Mexican fans who always give us such a fantastic welcome whenever we play there.”

Up.the irons!
Exceptional live recording from the ongoing "Legacy of the beast" tour, includes many rarely played great songs including my most favorite Maiden track "Flight of Icarus" only let down is the cheaper digipak includes a sticker and a poster, as opposed to a fancy hardback case like the more expensive hardback style book one does. I want a poster and a sticker! But I won't buy 2 copies just for a poster and sticker. Which leaves me with a dillema. So I bought a copy for a mate, opened his, stole the sticker and poster. And now I'm happy but feel guilty...not just about me and his missus either! Ha, you could say I'm a devil...and I wouldn't say no, out here on the darkside...on with the show...but that's a story for another time oh my brothers (& sisters) love to you all, buy Maiden...rock out..forget covid it'll be over soon trust me

Good, but not essential.
Anyone lucky enough to have caught Iron Maiden's 'Legacy of the Beast' tour, before Covid put the kibosh on concerts, will know that it was one of the best shows the band have delivered in their storied history. Steve Harris's crew were in blistering form and backed up by arguably their most spectacular stage show since the 'World Slavery Tour'. It is therefore somewhat surprising that 'Nights of the Dead' has only been issued in audio format. That being said, 'Nights...' is a quality live album, with the greatest heavy metal band of all time delivering a suitably tight, punchy and intense performance in front of a wildly enthusiastic Mexico City crowd. Bruce Dickinson's vocals are fantastic, showing no signs of his battle with the big C, while the sound quality is up to the high standards you would expect. However, while the setlist is packed with classic material, there is precious little that hasn't appeared already on Maiden's countless live discs since the 80's (how many concert versions of 'The Trooper', 'Fear of the Dark' and 'Iron Maiden' do fans need, really?) and without the visuals, this 2-disc set fails to convey just how incredible these shows were.Make no mistake. 'Night's of the Dead' is still recommended to all Iron Maiden fans (the deluxe digibook version is gorgeous), but for a fuller representation of the scale, spectacle and sheer brilliance of the 'Legacy of the Beast' gigs, I strongly suggest heading to Youtube to check out the plethora of high quality live footage that is available.

Need to listen to this on a hi-fi
Having attended 2 shows on this tour in London, I wasn't that impressed when I streamed this album. I just didn't feel it did justice to the performances I witnessed.... but oh my the difference playing this on CD through a hi-fi is unbelievable. Well worth the effort to purchase this on CD and listen on your hifi

Three Colours of Vinyl
Top album from Maiden. Love the live set list, but the packaging is awesome and the three different coloured vinyl albums adds a touch of class. This is a must have album.
