Yes, it does cope with a massive 10-footer
Absolutely amazing piece of kit. I bought this based on previous reviews and to be honest I did balk at the price but it is, hands down, brilliant. I had ordered a 10' tree and this stand did exactly what is promised. You simply put the tree trunk in the middle bit (there's a small spike to keep it relatively central) and then you just ratched the handle until the (very strong, thick) wires have closed in on the bole of the tree. there is absolutely no movement whatsoever. There's a small water indicator that sticks out and indicates water level left. It's easy to fill it up with water. I have a 'Christmas tree skirt' which I them put over the stand so that you can't see it. It works well as long as you leave the water indicator to float free. It will take me a few years to recoup the outlay, as the log stand I usually order with the tree is only about £12, but being able to keep the tree moist is a very important factor with such a tall specimen. I'll be attempting an 11-footer this year... maybe even 12.It packs back into its relatively small box (around 60cmx60cmx20cm so it's very easy to store on a shelf ready for next year.

Wish I'd discovered this years ago
So, so, so easy to use. Only took a minute to put an 8 ft tree up straight and for it to be held securely for weeks. It can also hold a lot of water without leaking. Mine didn't need to be topped up for 2 weeks. Wish I'd discovered this product year ago! I rarely write reviews but felt I had to for this product

Brilliant, easy, love it!
We always have a massive Christmas tree, and have never found a tree stand good enough, until now. This is completely brilliant, well-thought out, easy to use, intuitive, and very effective. It takes trees up to 12 feet! It makes it easy to get the tree straight, and very securely clamped into position (with the clamping mechanisim operated by foot). The water reservoir holds a whole watering can full of water, and there's an ingenious floating indicator to tell you when the water is getting low. Engineered in Germany, where they know a thing or two about Christmas trees. Highly recommended.

This is the best tree stand ever!
I did the math. We bought 6 different tree stands over the last 10 years. All 6 were garbage. The plastic wasn't strong enough, the water basin wasn't big enough, the screws wouldn't keep the tree straight or secure.I did my research & this stand was at the top of everyone's list so I figured I'd give it a shot. This purchase made me sooooo happy! We put our tree up on Monday, December 11th & we took the decorations off today, Monday, January 8th. The tree is still green, needles are soft & still attached to the branches. It took us 5 minutes to get the tree setup, straight in the stand & solidly locked in place. The reservoir is huge & the water level gauge is life changing.I don't write many reviews but knew I had to review this product: it is worth every penny. Extremely high quality, sturdy & functional. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Worth every penny
Putting up the Christmas tree used to be a painful hour of family disputes, however this year the tree was up in approx 45 seconds. Was sturdy and straight within this time and even told us how much water was required. Could not recommend this product more for anyone buying a real tree.

Absolutely fantastic - Easily the best stand I've ever seen.
This is a wonderful product. There is not getting around it, this stand IS expensive, very expensive considering the standard "high" price for a regular stand is $25, but this is by-far the best stand I've ever used.I can't believe I have struggled by with a $15 stand for the past two years rather than investing in this. Gone are the days that I'm messily trying to trim off the lower branches and knobs from the trunk to try and squeeze it into the stand, then as quickly as possible turn the four screws tight to hold the tree (hopefully) straight.Setup:-This year it literally took me 30s to get the tree set up, even after having to reset and re-straighten the tree. It's just that simple and easy! Now, your milage may vary; I'm a 5'7" 180lb man and was setting up a 7' tree. As long as your arms can grasp the trunk I don't see why anyone else would have any trouble with setting up a similar tree single handed.Watering :-The stand holds a deceptively large volume of water so it actually took me two trips from the sink with several large bowls / pots to get it filled in the first place. The fill-level indicator float is very handy and easy to read, just keep pouring water in until you see the bright orange "FULL" mark and you're good to go.Construction :-My only concern would be how much of the mechanism is constructed from plastics instead of metal. However; it seems pretty solid and has a decent warranty (5yrs according to the details when I bought it in Dec 2014).Final thoughts :-I'm a sucker for a well engineered product and this fits perfectly for me. Cool mechanism, fast and efficient setup, tons of water, seems very stable (I'm sure the water helps that even more, but it already felt stable without water).

Trim down excess branches & knots for a straight tree!
TLDR: easy & convenient to use with a small learning curve. If you get very skinny trees, pick the base size closest to the height you usually get. Great for crooked tree trunks but when inserting the tree, ensure the trunk is centered in the base and trim off any branches and knots that will be in the way of the clasps. This is an amazing quality stand. Definitely read the directions before and you’ll notice that it says to only fill the water until the floater just pops up. It can def hold a lot of water and the float is super helpful.I have the XXL and a 7-8ft tree so I could have gotten the M-L but wanted a stand that could grow with us if we lived somewhere we could have a much bigger tree. I noticed that our trunk is on the skinnier side and if you get trees with skinnier trunks, I would stay closer to the appropriate max height size as I’m not sure this one could hold well a tree too much skinnier than ours.Haven’t had issues with ours *leaking* water on its own per se. Which the instructions note can happen with overfilling and improper storage. But we had an issue where we had to move the stand around once it already had water in it and I noticed a tiny bit leaked out around the bottom so just be aware. Now for possibly the most important thing I noticed- the stand can 100% hold straight a very crooked tree trunk *IF* you make sure your tree is centered in the stand and you trim off any branches or knots that are close to where the feet that hold the tree in place are!!!!The people who cut our tree cut it at a HORRIFIC angle and we didn’t have the tools to fix it ourselves when we noticed it. The first two times we tried to install we had issues with it not being straight no matter what we did and leaning worse and worse every time we looked at it.BUT we got under the tree and noticed that 1. Our tree was definitely off centered within the base and 2. some low branches and some significant knots in the wood were preventing 2 of the clasps from fully and firmly engaging the trunk- the corners of the clasps were hitting and getting stopped by branches and knots. So the clasps closest to the tree were basically pushing the tree sideways toward the clasps that were barely engaging the tree.We recentered the tree in the stand and trimmed off the lowest branches with gardening shears and used an old knife to trim down the knots and once we did that, all the clasps were able to equally engage the trunk and we have had no issues yet. Also, I echo what others have said about only tighten until you feel it stop, don’t over tighten or you will have issues!Overall, I would definitely recommend this stand to everyone. It has a small learning curve but is super easy otherwise!!
