It's roughly 3-4cm thick all over with regular quilted buttons. Husband finds it very comfy and no longer gets backache.

It's in between. Not bright red - but not quite maroon. Slightly lighter than red wine!!

Yes, it is illegal to sell furniture that hasn't got fire retardant cover material in the UK.

Q: Does this have a removable cover for washing?

No, but I believe it is machine washable or use a damp cloth for any marks.
