Works GREAT for arthritis patients.
This is the first of two seats that I purchased from Corydor, the Amazon vendor. Both of these cushions work very well. In my case, I have advanced arthritis in my spine and hips (among other places), and getting into my car is very difficult. The cushion allows me to first seat myself to avoid having to put one foot in and then stand on one while bending in a very painful way to enter the car. With the Duro-Med I can instead turn and sit down in a natural fashion. This reduces the strain on my back and hips. Once I'm landed in the seat, and atop the swivel cushion, I can then simply spin my feet into the car while my upward body also turns in one movement. Still a bit of pain, but that's part of everyday life with arthritis of this type.My wife, on the other hand, is the victim of a horribly incompetent surgeon who left pieces of her spine inside the column. A subsequent operation reveals that at least one of the pieces, about the size of a dime according to the surgeon, was "knife edge" into the spinal cord and nerves in that area. As a result, she also is in constant pain and has a similar problem entering her car. In both of our cases the Duro-Med cushion helps entering the car.Of equal importance, the swivel seat has enough cushion to provide a relatively soft area to sit while in the car. Even more important is the size and shape of the swivel seat. With its relatively broad size a person of average height and weight can set atop the seat and not really feel it underneath them. A larger person with a larger frame may feel the seat as it is directly under them or even shifted to the side but in those cases it is not high enough to cause discomfort. Having this cushion allows the seat to be used not only to enter the car but to remain in place during the driving. The swivel seat is also very useful when exiting the car. One simply turns her lower body to allow the feet to clear the doorway in the upper body will spin on the swivel seat in a natural manner. This allows you to rise from the car seat in a more natural position, and in fact will reduce the amount of car door for car opening that you may need to pull yourself from the vehicle. The reason for this is that by having the seat turn you to face outward you can slip forward to the edge of the seat, and in the instance of a lower vehicle onto the threshold of the car door, and then stand just as if you were standing from the chair. The overall quality of the swivel seat is high, especially considering the price of the material likely used to make this product. The material is not necessarily plush but it is comfortable to the touch and for the purpose it was made. The cushion is thick enough, as I pointed out, to give the user a comfortable spot to sit while still remaining narrow enough to not cause interference with the seating position. While I am thinking about components of the seat let me add that the swivel component seems to be fairly sturdy and capable of carrying weight in excess of 200 pounds quite easily. For those who may be above 250 pounds I would imagine that the swivel would wear out much quicker. Larger folks know their weight and the price they pay, so having to replace the seat a bit earlier is not a problem in my opinion.I think the product is a good value and would recommend it for almost anyone who has difficulty entering or exiting their car.

12.5" Swivel Seat Is Too Small for Bucket Seat of Honda Accord
This HEALTHSMART SWIVEL SEAT CUSHION (Black with Red Stripe, 12.5 Inches in Diameter) works fine as a swivel cushion for my little black folding stool; it does NOT work as a swivel cushion in the passenger-side bucket seat of my Honda Accord. Although it appears to fit the Accord’s bucket seat, it sinks down into the middle of the seat, and the flared sides of the seat prevent the cushion from swiveling. What does work in the Accord’s bucket seat is a larger 16-inch diameter Medline swivel cushion. (It is the light gray swivel seat shown in my photos.) The larger swivel cushion sits atop the flared sides of the bucket seat, and the cushion is able to swivel. The swivel cushion is extremely helpful to my disabled husband, when he gets in and out of the car.The 12.5” striped HealthSmart swivel seat is a “Vivi” brand swivel seat, made in China, and “manufactured for HealthSmart International”. It seems to be reasonably well made, and the cover is machine washable. Obviously the red-and-black swivel seat is NOT a good match for the ivory upholstery of my car, but that wouldn’t matter if the small cushion were able to swivel. In my experience, the plastic swivel portion of this type of cushion always wears out over time. The person’s weight causes the connection between the plastic swivel part and the cushion to break, or else the plastic swivel portion cracks. You can expect to have to replace any regularly-used swivel cushion from time to time.

Smooth
I love this. It sits right on top of the seat and it is surprisingly comfortable and effective. It moves smoothly so you can get in and out of the car with out twisting your back. I had surgery recently and was concerned I would not be able to get in and out of the car.. Problem solved. Buy it. You won’t return.

Functions well, but uncomfortable
While the quality is OK and it fits in the car seat, the foam is thin and it is very uncomfortable. My father refuses to use it as it causes a lot of pain on a car ride.

Perfect for my kitchen chair
Unlike many of the other people reviewing this swivel seat, I didn't buy this to help me into the car I bought this to help me with my kitchen/desk chair, which is a bit low and very hard on me when I try to get out of it. I found this swivel cushion to be a bit hard for a cushion, but it works perfectly in my kitchen chair. I can turn and reach things with ease, and get up without hurting my back or hips.On the other hand, cushion is a bit of a misnomer. It's a plastic swivel "lazy susan" covered with a bit of padding and velour-type fabric. Happily, the bottom has a grippy rubber surface, so I don't slide at all. That's likely the problem with the folks who bought this for their cars -- there's no slide-able surface on this, so sliding into the car won't work.So for the right application, this is the perfect solution. If you want it for your car, cushioned chair, recliner, etc., this isn't what you need. Too bad. The price is right and the swivel works perfectly.

Not a good product for the car
I bought this to swivel in and out of my seat on the drivers side of the car. First, this product does not adapt to a standard style car seat at all. It might work with the bench style seats of 40 years ago. The way it wedged into the back of the seat made it impossible to even turn. It was also uncomfortable with absolutely no give, and pushed me up 2+ inches, so that I was jammed into the steering wheel. Since I had already unpackaged it, there was not a way to return it and I was stuck with the wasted money. Better plan is just to slide your seat back as far as possible and swing around yourself to get in and out of the car. This might also be a good product for a hard surface dining chair.

Rotates fine, but...
It seems like it should work. However, it creates a big uncomfortable gap in back and necessitates an awkward sitting position while driving.
