Q: what are the hinges made of?

The hinges are steel which slip into 2 slots on the bottom of the base frame attached to the building. it is removable for cleaning, etc. It is secured at the top with 2 swivel steel levers which clip on to the base frame. this is a complete unit, the base frame and the insert-able louvered vent. This unit I purchased is 20 by 20 inches and is used for the return A/C air vent in a Manufactured home in Florida. This is a 5 start product.

Q: My opening wall cut out 20wX20h,my grill cover holes are 14wX213/4 will this work for me can you give me a answer asap

If the one you have is 14 x 21 3/4 I'd say that won't work. The 20 x 20 fits in that size hole with a 1 1/2 overhang to cover the edges of the hole. If your hole is 20 x 20 the duct work should come to the edges of the hole.

Q: We have the new grill and when inserted the flap or part is not long enough to screw in. It’s only 1 inch and we need 2 inches. Is there one ?

It sounds like the replacement is too small. You should get the right size. If one is not available, You can put a 1" thick strip of wood on the inside of the hole. You may want to see if a strip on each side work to balance out the grill. you should also get 2" screws to hold everything in place.
