Q: Can you use this for needle felting?

I don't think they will as they are quite thick and you then have the stem that holds them inside as well. I use them for small, crochet animals which are made with double knit.

Q: I'm making a memory bear from fabric - can anyone suggest a way to get the eyes to recede a bit so they don't look like they're staring?

Maybe put half to three quarters of the stuffing in the head, put the eyes in, push and wriggle them around building up the stuffing around them until you get close to what you want and then finish stuffing until the eyes are indented, otherwise you will still get staring eyes if you don't. That's what I would do, but there are more talented people around than me who will most probably have a much better answer than me. Good luck.

I have made several toys and used the eyes. It doesnt seem to matter which way you put the back on, as long as it fits nice and tight. Its inside the toy covered with stuffing so providing its a snug fit either way works
